Looking for spooks

By Mary Zielinski | Jun 06, 2013

KALONA — If there’s anything going bump in the night or just flitting through Kalona’s Sharon Hill Cemetery, members of the Southeast Iowa Paranormal Society want to know.
Monday, Brad Hinckley asked the Kalona council to allow Society members to walk the cemetery from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. Saturday and Sunday, June 8-9 to see if there is any paranormal activity in the the more than 130-year-old  burial ground.  The group assured the council it would provide a liability release, as well as contact the sheriff’s department so there would be no concern about real people wandering among the gravestones. He added that the interest in walking the grounds came after “some people” reported seeing something there.
Provided all paperwork regarding liability is to city hall by Friday, council members had no problem with the spook hunt.  In fact. Hinckley invited them to come along.
