Man arrested in Missouri

MEMPHIS, Mo. — A man wanted out of Washington County was arrested Tuesday night in Memphis on a Washington County warrant as well as local charges.

According to the Washington County call log, Curtis Anthony Cousins, 34, of Washington, was arrested at 10:41 p.m. Tuesday on a Washington County warrant for revocation of pretrial release supervision on an original charge of two counts of possession of a controlled substance third or subsequent offense. Bond has been set at $10,000 cash only. A detainer has been placed and extradition arrangements will be made with Scotland County, Missouri.

Scotland County also has local charges, the report said.

Cousins was arrested Feb. 13, 2017. At about 11:13 a.m., an officer reported attempting to stop a green and gray-colored Ford van with no plates at South 10th Avenue and East Main Street in Washington. The report said the vehicle allegedly did not stop. Officers continued in short pursuit and stopped at East Seventh Street and North 12th Avenue in Washington. The vehicle was towed. Washington Police Chief Greg Goodman said the incident did not involve high speeds.

Cousins was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance marijuana, third offense and subsequent, and possession of methamphetamine third and subsequent.

Esau Rios, 33, of Washington, who was allegedly driving, was arrested for driving under suspension, ninth offense, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle, and assault on a police officer.
