Mary Elaine Statler, age 98, of Washington, Iowa, passed away Sunday, December 17, 2017, at the M.L. McCreedy Home.

Celebration of life services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 22, 2017 at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home with Pastor Moody Colorado officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Friday morning. Interment will take place at the Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington. Memorials have been established for the West Chester United Methodist Church and the West Chester Heritage Center. Mary was born September 29, 1919, in Washington County, Iowa, the daughter of Herman and Edith (Hope) Luers. She graduated from West Chester High School and attended business school in Des Moines. Mary was united in marriage to Keith D. Statler on November 1, 1941, in Missouri.

Mary was a homemaker and the co-owner of Country Village Antiques in West Chester. She was an 80-year member of the West Chester United Methodist Church as well as a member of the United Methodist Women and the West Chester Pythian Sisters. She was also a member of the Log Cabin Questors and the White Way Club.

She is survived by her daughter, Nancy (Bob) Hevert of Westfield, N.J.; daughter, Deanna (Cliff) Stoutner of Houston, Texas; daughter, Cindy (Steve) Santelmann of Oklahoma City, Okla.; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Letha Statler of Washington, Iowa.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents; husband; and sisters, Jean Allen and Roberta Larsen
