DES MOINES — Mid-Prairie’s 4x100 relay team of Lexi Duwa, Meghan Redlinger, Kattie Redlinger and Faithe Garza took 12th place at the Drake Relays on Friday.

The Golden Hawk quartet raced around Drake University’s blue oval in 50.63 seconds, which is currently the fastest 4x100 time in Iowa’s Class 2A this season.

“It was very exciting to watch this race with great competition from around the state,” Mid-Prairie head girls’ track and field coach Chris Tyler said. “We changed our handoff order the week of the race, so I wasn’t sure how that would work out for us. So far it seems to be working.”
