Mid-Prairie board members confirmed its school board election results at a meeting Monday, seating one new member and three re-elected board members.

Newly elected Denise Chittick replaces outgoing vice-president Jeremy Statler, who is retiring from the board after serving two, 2-year terms.

Jim Hussey, Gabrielle Frederick and Jodi Meader were re-elected to 4-year terms. Current board members Marianne Schlabach, George Schaefer and Jeremy Pickard were not up for re-election.

Mid-Prairie Superintendent Mark Schneider expressed his appreciation to Statler for his service to the district.

“I do want to thank you for all the work you have done for us,” he said.

Schneider said Statler provided the superintendent’s office with a good communication link to the community.

“He kept us informed of ongoing community events and we thank him for his service,” Schneider said.

In response, Statler said he had enjoyed his work with the district.

“It’s been my privilege to serve on the board. We have had some challenging issues to work with that required some tough decisions,” he said.

Statler said he was thankful for the work of previous board members who had laid a foundation for the current success of the school system.

“I am very proud of being a part of the Mid-Prairie School District.” he said.

Pickard was re-elected to the position of board president and Schaefer was elected vice president.
