By Hunter Tickel | Sep 06, 2013

Due to over-heating, Washington and Mid-Prairie junior varsity squad found themselves playing on a Tuesday.
Mid-Prairie cruised to a 27-8 win for local bragging rights.
Washington took a lead into the second quarter before being outscored 20-0 in the final three quarters.
Paul Hawbaker of Mid-Prairie scored on his only carry of the day from 32 yards out. The kicker then converted the extra point. He would convert the next two before a bad snap prevented him from going four-for-four.
Washington answered with an even longer touchdown run of 65 yards. A two-point conversion gave it its first and only lead of the game.
Ricardo Vargas had a field day with 124 yards, two touchdowns and 14 attempts.
He made sure the Golden Hawks took the lead into halftime.
After the break, Nolan Faselt punched it in from 14 yards. He gained 89 yards total on just eight carries for more than 10 yards per carry.
Vargas made up the final deficit with a touchdown carry of 6 yards.
Cameron Tolander led the Mid-Prairie defense with 12 tackles. Levi Duwa had 10 and Faselt had seven.
It finished with 333 total yards to 228 yards from Washington.
