Over this past week the Mid-Prairie junior varsity boys’ golf team started slow but showed great improvement as the week went on.
On Monday, April 21, the boys had a tough day on a wet and windy Brown Deer course. Seth Mann led the Golden Hawks with his nine-hole score of 62. Zach Owens finished with a 63. Ethan Danner completed the course at 65. Alec Rauch hit the clubhouse at 75. Alex Rich carded a 77. Sam Bailey finished the Mid-Prairie scoring at 77.
On Tuesday, April 23, three Golden Hawk freshmen played in the Wildcat Invitational at Wahkonsa Golf Course in Durant. It was an 18-hole varsity tournament that saw the three young golfers improve from the last invitational.
Mann led Mid-Prairie with a 113.  Danner shot a 115 and Owens was good for a 134.
After a couple days of practice the same three freshmen traveled to the West Liberty Golf Course for the Comet Invitational on Friday, April 25.  All the young Golden Hawks shot personal bests. Danner led Mid-Prairie, carding an 18-hole total of 102.  Mann shot a 111 and Owens finished with a 124.
