The Mid-Prairie girls won their sixth game, whipping the Durant Wildcats 53-26 in a road game Saturday.

Mid-Prairie started the game with an 8-0 run and led at the end of the first quarter.

“I felt like we moved the ball very well and took great shots. We just have not been hitting the outside shot the last few games. I also felt like we got a big lead in the first half and and let up in the second half,” said Head coach Stephen Bender.

The Hawks also led throughout the second quarter, taking a 33-12 lead into the half.

The Golden Hawks controlled the second half as well, extending the lead to as many as 28 points.

“Addie Rath played very well and I also thought Phelan Hostetler had a nice game off the bench along with Ella Cadena.

“Our schedule after the break will get very tough. We play 6 ranked team in the 2nd half of the season,” Bender said.

“We need to keep improving, value the ball, play tough defense every possession, and start hitting some outside shots.”

Mid-Prairie was led by Addie Rath with 21 points. Mid-Prairie is 6-1 on the year and Durant drops to 0-10.
