Offices to close for Independence Day

There will be several closings on Thursday, July 4, in honor of Independence Day.
Washington city hall will be closed, said Washington city clerk Illa Earnest. On Friday, it will re-open for their regular hours from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Also, in Washington the Washington County Courthouse will be closed on Thursday, July 4, said Sue Meeks of the Washington County Auditor’s Office. On Friday, Meeks said the treasurer, recorder, and auditor’s offices all will be closed. They will re-open on Monday, July 8, with regular business hours.
The Washington post office will be closed on Thursday, July 4, said Washington Post office employee Kathleen Enz-Allison. She said they would resume with their regular business hours on Friday.
There won’t be a Farmers Market held Thursday. It will resume the following week at the normal time.
The Riverside City Hall will be closed on Thursday, July 4, said Riverside city employee Lory Young. It will re-open on Friday, July 5, with regular business hours from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
In Kalona, the city offices will be closed on the 4th, said Kalona city clerk Karen Christner. It will re-open with regular business hours on Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Wellman city offices will also be closed on Thursday, said Wellman’s utility clerk Chris Huston. The offices will re-open on Friday with normal business hours from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  
The Washington Evening Journal will be closed Thursday and no newspaper will be printed. Regular hours will resume on Friday.
