Outage leaves 1,800 in the dark

Eighteen hundred Alliant Energy customers in Washington lost power late Wednesday evening.
According to Alliant Energy media spokesperson Heather Holmes, the outage occurred at 11:55 p.m. and lasted for about 57 minutes.
A raccoon had gotten into the Alliant Energy substation in Washington caused the outage, Holmes said.
All of the affected customers had their electricity back on by 1:30 a.m.
