Parkview plans peanut auction

WAYLAND — Members of the activity department at Parkview Home in Wayland are planning the annual Peanut Auction for the residents on Wednesday, March 27, at 2 p.m. They are seeking donations of small items that the residents will be able to “purchase” at the auction with peanuts provided by the activity department. Some examples are note pads, pens, pencils, find-a-word and crossword puzzle books, jigsaw puzzles, candy (sugar-free and regular), pop (sugar-free and regular), microwave popcorn, cookies, pies, rolls, potato chips, cheese puffs, crunchy cheese curls, pretzels, shampoo, cologne and perfume, hand-held video games, music CDs, movie DVDs, greeting cards, sympathy cards, jewelry, small hand-held calculators, certificates for haircuts; certificates for pizzas, sandwiches, meals at former restaurants or convenience stores in Wayland, Brighton, Washington, and Mount pleasant; etc.

Please have items to Parkview Home by Monday, March 25. If you can come to assist a resident with the auction, please call Jerilyn Winga or Crystal Chunn at 319-256-2775 to let them know, and please be here by 1:30 p.m. so you can review the items and discuss what they would like to purchase.
