Arrests

Daniel Joseph Clark, 40, of Crawfordsville, was arrested Friday afternoon at 290th Street and Louisa Washington Road in Columbus Junction on a Washington County warrant for driving under revocation. He was also cited for failure to yield to emergency vehicle.

Ashley Leora Seaba, 29, of Brighton, was arrested Saturday morning in the 1200 block of West Grimes in Fairfield on a Washington County warrant for first-degree burglary and assault causing bodily injury or mental illness.

Mattea Chanique Cyrus, 26, of Waterloo, was arrested Saturday afternoon in the 3100 block of Highway 92 in Ainsworth on a Blackhawk County warrant for no valid license and no valid insurance.

Colton Elliot Singbeil, 26, of Washington, was arrested Saturday night in the 300 block of West Madison Street in Washington on a charge of domestic abuse assault.

 

Traffic accident

A caller Friday morning at Highway 218 and the Highway 92 ramp in Ainsworth reported that at the southbound side a semi tipped over off the ramp. There were unknown injuries. Traffic was blocked. Officers, Ainsworth Fire, Washington County Rescue, Iowa State Patrol and an ambulance responded. Ainsworth QRS was paged with no response. The ambulance transported one male subject to the University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City. Iowa State Patrol will handle the accident. The semi was towed.

A caller Friday night in the 600 block of West Tyler Street in Washington reported that someone struck her daughter’s blue Kia Optima while it was parked at the apartment complex. An officer responded. Documentation was made. The vehicle was possibly a white four-door Chevrolet car.

A caller Sunday evening at Highway 218 and the Highway 22 ramp in Riverside reported a traffic accident. A Toyota Prius hit the guardrail. There were two youngsters in the vehicle, and there were no injuries. An officer responded. The occupants were going to try to make it home. They were advised to call if further assistance was needed. Damage was over $1,500, and a state accident report will be filed.

An officer reported being out with a one-vehicle traffic accident, Sunday evening at Redwood Avenue and Highway 92 in Washington. The officer tagged the vehicle and added it to the system. Damage was under $1,500. The driver was waiting for a ride.

A caller Sunday evening in the 2500 block of Spruce Avenue in Washington reported a blue van in the ditch. An officer responded. The owner planned to leave the vehicle and to contact a towing service to tow the vehicle on Monday. The vehicle was tagged and added to the system.

An officer reported being out with a traffic accident, Sunday night at Highway 92 and Spruce Avenue in Washington. The officer advised that damage was under $1,500, and the vehicle was drivable.

A caller Sunday night at Highway 1 and 170th Street in Washington reported a Dodge Charger in a ditch near a white barn. An officer responded and was unable to locate the vehicle.

A caller Sunday night at Highway 218 and 320th Street in Crawfordsville reported a maroon four-door car in the median. About 35 minutes later, Henry County advised that they received a report of two vehicles in the median. An officer responded. One vehicle was still in the median. The officer gave the subject a ride to the casino.

A caller Sunday night at Highway 218 and 320th Street in Crawfordsville reported a rollover with injuries and no trap. Officers, Crawfordsville QRS, Crawfordsville Fire, a Washington County Rescue unit and an ambulance responded. The ambulance transported the subject to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. The vehicle was towed. A state accident report will be filed.

A caller Sunday night at 220th Street and Spruce Avenue in Washington reported a traffic accident. An officer responded. The subject was fine. Her husband was coming to pull her out.

A caller Monday morning at 220th Street and Riverside Road in Washington reported that he slid into the ditch in his red Ford Ranger. There were no injuries, and the vehicle was drivable, with minimal or no damage. The caller planned to have someone come and remove the truck later that day. The information was documented. An officer was advised for documentation purposes.

Traffic stop serious

An officer reported being at a vehicle stop, Saturday night at Highway 22 and West First Street in Riverside with a black BMW with unreadable plates. A juvenile was cited for possession of alcohol under the legal age.

An officer reported being on a vehicle stop with a vehicle and a trailer with no lights or plates, Sunday afternoon at 128th Place and Highway 22 in Wellman. Aaron Allen Tripses, 29, of Wellman, was cited for driving while suspended.

 

Traffic other

A caller Sunday afternoon at 265th Street and Highway 218 in Ainsworth reported that a vehicle was in the ditch. A subject was walking around the car. An officer responded. The subject had help coming with a tow strap. They were stuck in the mud. They were advised to call if the tow strap did not work, and a wrecker would be sent.

A caller Sunday evening at Highway 218 and the Highway 92 ramp in Ainsworth reported a vehicle in the ditch. An officer advised that the vehicle was able to get out of the ditch.

A caller Sunday night in the 1200 block of Highway 1 in Kalona reported being in the ditch in a Mercury Sable. An officer responded. The caller was in the west ditch. Damage was under $1,500. The vehicle was added to the system. The driver had a ride coming.

A caller Sunday night at 230th Street and Highway 218 in Ainsworth reported a vehicle in the ditch. An officer and a towing service responded. The vehicle was towed out of the ditch.

A caller Sunday morning at Highway 218 and 170th Street in Riverside had a driving complaint at Mile Marker 57 northbound. A red sedan was all over the roadway, speeding up and braking. An officer responded and stopped the vehicle at 170th Street. There was an inexperienced driver.

 

Disabled vehicles

A caller Friday morning in the 800 block of South Third Avenue in Washington reported a vehicle with flat tires that had not been moved for a couple of weeks. The vehicle was a silver Mitsubishi. An officer responded. Tires were chalked. The officer planned to check back the next day.

 

An officer reported an unoccupied disabled vehicle with a flat tire, Friday afternoon at Ginkgo Avenue and 210th Street in West Chester.

An officer reported being out with a vehicle in the ditch, Sunday night at Highway 22 and Hickory Avenue in Wellman. The vehicle was a maroon Ford Taurus with Kalona Auto plates. It was added to the system.

A caller Monday morning at Highway 78 and Fir Avenue in Brighton requested a deputy’s assistance with changing a flat tire. An officer responded and assisted.

Animal complaint

A caller Saturday night in the 900 block of South Second Avenue in Washington reported that a dog attacked his roommate and his dog. An officer responded and spoke with all parties involved. The dog did not attack the female subject but did attack the dog. Ana Teresa Farrier, of Washington, was cited into court for allowing or permitting an animal to attack a domestic animal.

An officer reported being out with an injured deer, recently hit, Sunday morning in the 1800 block of Highway 22 in Wellman. The officer removed the deer from the roadway and put it down.

Fire calls

A caller Saturday afternoon in the 2200 block of Hemlock Avenue in Keota reported a fire in the field, with no structures nearby. Washington Fire Department responded and extinguished the fire.

A caller Saturday night in the 1300 block of East Third Street in Washington reported possible illegal burning. An officer responded. The subject was only burning yard waste.

Civil standby

A caller Sunday afternoon in the 800 block of South Avenue C in Washington requested a civil standby. An officer responded and stood by.

Civil dispute

A caller Sunday afternoon in the 800 block of South Avenue C in Washington reported that his brother’s girlfriend was taking things while he was not there. His parents were there. Officers responded. She was continuing to move out, and the caller said he might call later for a civil standby.

Disorderly conduct

An officer reported going to the 3100 block of Highway 22 in Riverside, Monday morning, in reference to two disorderly subjects. One male subject was gone upon the officer’s arrival and had refused to give information to security personnel. The incident was documented.

Family offense nonviolent

An officer reported being out with DHS at a residence, Friday afternoon in the 300 block of North Grant Street in Crawfordsville. Documentation was made.

A caller Friday afternoon in the 600 block of South Fourth Avenue in Washington reported that parents had not picked up their children from school and wouldn’t answer their phones. An officer responded. While the officer was on the scene, the parents showed up to pick up the children.

Hang-up 911 calls

A caller Saturday afternoon in the 700 block of East Washington Street in Washington reported two hang-up 911 calls. Upon callback, the line was continuously busy. A female subject called to report that she fell from a stool and hit her head and was on the kitchen floor in pain, but there was no blood. An officer and an ambulance responded. The ambulance transported the subject to the Washington County Hospital and Clinics in Washington.

Dispatch reported a 911 open line, Sunday afternoon in the 800 block of Third Street in Wellman. An officer responded, and everything was fine.

Intimidation/harassment

A caller Saturday night in the 300 block of West Main Street in Washington reported receiving threatening messages from a cousin. An officer responded. Documentation was made. A second officer attempted to locate the suspect at home and advise the suspect to have no more contact with the caller, but was unable to locate.

A caller Sunday afternoon in the 200 block of West Madison Street in Washington reported that her son was pushed by two other juveniles, and she wanted to speak with an officer about the situation. An officer spoke with all parties involved and advised them to have no further contact.

Suspicious activity

A caller Saturday morning in the 500 block of East Madison Street in Brighton reported suspicious activity. An officer responded and was unable to locate anything.

A caller Saturday morning in the 2800 block of Old White Way in Ainsworth reported suspicious activity. An officer responded and checked the area and was unable to locate anything suspicious.

A caller Sunday morning in the 1100 block of East Taylor Street in Washington reported youngsters with lights were pointing the lights toward houses and the street. An officer responded. The subjects were just attempting to play tennis in the dark. They were going to be moving on.

A caller Sunday morning in the 700 block of East 12th Street in Washington reported suspicious activity and a lot of noise coming from the residence behind hers. Officers responded. Everything was fine.

Trespass

A caller Sunday afternoon in the 800 block of Third Street in Kalona reported two juvenile males fighting and running around chasing each other. An officer responded. The juveniles’ parents took care of the issue, and they were advised that if they returned they would be charged with trespass.

Vandalism

A caller Sunday afternoon in the 700 block of South Iowa Avenue in Washington reported that someone threw Chinese food at her vehicle. An officer responded. No damage was done. The officer spoke with the suspect. The caller did not want to pursue charges. The incident was documented.

Welfare check

A caller Sunday morning in the 3100 block of Highway 1 in Brighton reported a young woman wearing all black was walking northbound on Highway 1 just south of the Skunk River. The caller reported that she was walking near the roadway and was hard to see. An officer responded and transported the female to her residence in Washington.

All other theft

A caller Saturday afternoon in the 1000 block of West Madison Street in Washington reported a gas drive-off worth $5. The subject had left, traveling westbound, within the past three minutes. The subject was an older male, and “handicapped” plates were on the vehicle. Dispatch did a broadcast and contacted a relative, who was going to contact the subject and have him return.

A caller Sunday morning in the 500 block of East Seventh Street in Washington reported that his wallet was stolen the previous night and it contained his Social Security card, driver’s license, and cards which he had canceled. The driver’s license and the Social Security card were entered into the system. The caller had notified the business.

All other offenses

A subject reported violation of a no-contact order, Sunday afternoon at the Washington Police Department. An officer spoke to the subject and planned to forward the information on to the county attorney. A report will be filed.
