Arrests

Joshua Paul Bixby, 28, of Columbus Junction was arrested Monday night in the 2400 block of Highway 92 in Washington on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, first offense, and possession of marijuana, second offense.

Andrew David Mask, 28, of Washington was arrested Monday night in the 500 block of South Marion Avenue in Washington on a charge of domestic abuse assault, first offense.

Traffic other

A caller Monday afternoon at First Avenue and Ginkgo Avenue in Wellman witnessed a subject driving northbound out of Wellman. The vehicle operator was not valid to drive. A report will be filed.

A caller Monday evening in the 700 block of Third Street in Kalona reported his recycling bin was destroyed, possibly from a vehicle. The wheel well and mudflap fell off and were left at the scene. An officer talked with the caller and was going to document the incident.

A caller Monday night in the 2400 block of 140th Street in Kalona reported a vehicle went through their fence Friday night or Saturday morning. A post was out of the ground, and barbed wire was broken off. Documentation was taken for insurance.

Animal complaint

A caller Monday morning at Maple Avenue and Johnson Washington Road in Kalona reported six horses in the roadway. An officer responded and checked the area and was unable to locate the animals.

A caller Monday night in the 600 block of North Marion Avenue in Washington reported that her neighbor’s dog was attacking her dog, and she requested an officer. A citation was issued to Stacy Burke, 33, of Washington for allowing a dog to run at large. The dog catcher collected the dog for quarantine. A report will be filed.

A caller Tuesday morning in the 800 block of South Avenue C in Washington reported a dog outside had been barking for a couple of hours. An officer responded. The dog was barking. It appeared no one was home. The officer left his card on the door. The incident was documented.

 

 

 

Disorderly conduct

A caller Monday morning in the 600 block of South Fourth Avenue in Washington requested assistance with a disorderly juvenile. An officer responded, and the child calmed down upon his arrival.

A caller Monday night in the 1000 block of North Sixth Avenue in Washington reported she was shoved out of the house on the north end of town and was assaulted. She requested to speak with an officer. An officer responded. The reporting party was not where she said she would be. The officer spoke with other subjects at the house. The incident was documented.

 

Intimidation/harassment

A charge of simple assault was filed on Maurice Adams, 38, of Washington, Monday in the 400 block of South Second Avenue in Washington. A charge of simple assault was filed on Jermaine Adams, 34, of Washington at the same time and location.

A caller Monday morning in the 600 block of East Second Street in Washington reported three subjects in a vehicle were harassing him while they continued to drive past his residence. An officer responded and would attempt to locate suspects.

A caller Monday night in the 100 block of Prost Street in Richland reported that her husband, from whom she was separated, kept calling her and wouldn’t stop. She requested that a deputy speak with him. An officer left a message for the male party to call in.

 

Trespass

A caller Monday afternoon in the 100 block of Fifth Street in Kalona reported a girlfriend’s ex-boyfriend entered the apartment with a key and she was not home. The caller was outside in a black Kia Forte. An officer responded. The subject lived at that address for a month. This was a civil matter.

 

All other theft

A caller Monday morning in the 300 block of A Place in Kalona reported the October tag was stolen off her license plate. An officer spoke with the subject for documentation purposes.

A caller Monday afternoon in the 300 block of South Fourth Avenue in Washington reported theft of money from a teacher. A report will be filed. Charges will be filed for fifth-degree theft.

 

All other offenses

An officer responded to assist with a medical call, Monday morning in the 1100 block of 13th Street in Wellman. A report will be filed.
