Arrests

Donald James Boileau, 36, of Washington, was arrested Thursday morning in the 1600 block of North Fifth Avenue in Washington on a Washington County warrant for possession of controlled substance, third or subsequent offense.

Antoine Lavell Sykes II, 21, of Gary, Indiana, was arrested Thursday evening in the 300 block of West Main Street in Washington on a Washington County warrant for controlled substance violation.

Cole David Emry-Stannard, 23, of Wayland, was arrested Thursday night in the 300 block of West Washington Street in Brighton on three Henry County warrants -- failure to appear on an original charge of driving under suspension, FTA on original charge of operating a vehicle with no registration, and FTA for original charge of no insurance.

Chase Isaac Maschmann, 40, of Brighton, was arrested Thursday night at 315th Street and Highway 1 in Washington on a charge of operating while intoxicated, first offense. He was cited for failure to obey a stop sign.

Traffic accident

A caller Thursday afternoon at South Eighth Avenue and East Tyler Street in Washington reported a two-vehicle accident with no injuries. The roadway was not blocked. An officer responded. A state report was filed. Nicholas Wayne, of Brighton, was cited for failure to provide proof of financial security accident-related, and unlawful start of a stopped vehicle.

Disabled vehicles

A deputy received a report of a disabled vehicle of several months’ duration, Thursday morning in the 900 block of Eighth Street in Kalona. An officer responded and chalked the tires. He planned to attempt to make contact with the owner.

An officer reported being out with a disabled vehicle, Friday morning at Highway 22 and Walnut Avenue in Riverside. The vehicle was unoccupied and off the travel portion of the roadway.

Fire calls

Dispatch received a medical alarm report of smoke in the residence, Friday morning in the 20 block of Cedar Drive in Washington. An officer responded. There was no fire or smoke. The report was unfounded.

Animal complaint

A caller Thursday night in the 800 block of South Second Avenue in Washington reported that someone stole her dog. Officers responded. The dog was returned, and the owner was advised of this.

Arson

A caller Thursday night in the 400 block of South Second Avenue in Washington reported that someone caught the side of the house on fire. Subjects were able to put the fire out. It was unknown who this was. It had happened 1 ½ hours earlier. Officers responded. A subject was advised that a family member was out in the backyard with a fire and that an ember must have started the fire on the side of the house. The incident was documented.

Disorderly conduct

A caller Thursday morning in the 300 block of South Farmer Street in Brighton reported that his great-niece came to his residence and kicked in the door. She left, driving a silver Mitsubishi Mirage, possibly en route to Pleasant Plain. The juvenile subject was cited for tobacco violation, first offense. An incident report will be filed, and charges are pending in Juvenile Court for criminal mischief.

A caller Thursday morning in the 1100 block of South Avenue B in Washington reported a fight on the premises. An officer filed charges on three juveniles for disorderly conduct. An additional charge for simple assault was issued to one of the juveniles.

DP & Q

A caller Thursday night in the 600 block of Fifth Street in Wellman reported that residents across the roadway were shooting off fireworks. An officer was advised and was unable to locate the subjects.

Family offense nonviolent

A caller Thursday night in the 300 block of North Avenue C in Washington reported that his 7-year-old daughter was out of control and wanting to leave the residence. Officers responded. The juvenile calmed down.

Intimidation/harassment

A caller Thursday afternoon in the 900 block of West Madison Street in Washington reported harassment on social media. An officer spoke with the caller. The incident was documented.

Search warrant

An officer reported being out conducting a search warrant, Thursday night in the 300 block of West Washington Street in Washington. A search warrant was executed.

Suspicious activity

A caller Thursday morning in the 300 block of South Fourth Avenue in Washington reported that a juvenile had been speaking on Facebook with a subject the juvenile should not be communicating with. The caller requested to speak with an officer. An officer responded. An incident report will be filed.

Vandalism

A caller Thursday afternoon in the 400 block of West Jefferson Street in Washington reported that her vehicle was vandalized between 1:30 and 2:30 p.m. Thursday. A cupful of dark-colored soda pop was poured on the back driver-side taillight, back window, and up to the driver-side door. An officer responded. Documentation was made.

Welfare check

A caller Thursday evening in the 600 block of Third Street in Wellman requested a welfare check after receiving a strange phone call from a number. An officer did a welfare check, and everyone was fine.

All other theft

A caller Thursday morning in the 3000 block of Highway 22 in Riverside reported a gas drive-off in the amount of $80. The vehicle was a black Ford passenger van with Missouri license plates, and a possible plate number was provided. It was last seen traveling westbound on Highway 22. An officer was advised. The information was documented. The subject was going to return and pay.

A caller Thursday morning in the 3100 block of Wayland Road in Wayland reported a three-point post hole digger (Land Pride brand) and an auger were taken from a property sometime between August and Feb. 27. The items were valued at $1,800. An officer spoke with the caller. A report will be filed.

A caller Thursday afternoon in the 100 block of East Second Street in Washington reported theft of medications. The incident is under investigation.

A caller Thursday evening in the 600 block of South Fourth Avenue in Washington reported a stolen bicycle. It was a bright blue BMX 100 bicycle with white lettering, and had pegs on the front and the back. The bike was taken from the Lincoln School area. The information was documented.

A caller Friday morning in the 2400 block of Highway 92 in Washington reported a theft. One juvenile was charged with fifth-degree theft. Charges will be forwarded on to Juvenile Probation.
