Arrests

Samantha Nicole Wheeler, 28, of Washington, was arrested Wednesday morning in the 2400 block of Highway 92 in Washington for fifth-degree theft. Charges of possession of meth and possession of drug paraphernalia are pending. Darrin Lee Pameticky, 48, of Columbus Junction, was arrested at the same time and location for fifth-degree theft.

Thomas Jay Ruble, 49, of Donnellson, was arrested Wednesday afternoon at Highway 218 and Highway 92 ramp in Ainsworth for driving while barred and driving while suspended. He was also arrested on a Lee County warrant for voluntary absence from custody on an original charge of driving while barred and animals running at large.

 

Traffic other

A erratic driver was reported Wednesday morning in the 700 block of East Second Street in Washington. An officer located the subject and counseled him on his driving. He advised the driver had bad tires on the vehicle.

 

Fire calls

A school bus was reported possibly on fire Wednesday afternoon at North Fourth Avenue and East Seventh Street in Washington. Officers and Washington Fire Department responded. The bus was not on fire.

 

Sexual child abuse

A possible sexual assault was reported Wednesday afternoon in the 200 block of East Washington Street in Washington. An officer responded. A report will be filed.

 

Assault

A caller in the 200 block of East Washington Street in Washington reported Wednesday afternoon seeing a woman in her 40s slapping her 11-year-old daughter. An officer made contact with the suspect. A report will be filed.

 

Burglary

A caller in the 1200 block of Vine Avenue in Riverside reported Wednesday morning someone broke into the house and stole the refrigerator and messed up the house. An officer responded. A report will be filed.

 

Fraud

A caller in the 300 block of East Main Street in Washington reported Wednesday afternoon receiving a fraudulent check as payment for something. An officer responded. The incident was documented.

 

Shoplifting

A shoplifter was reported Thursday morning in the 2400 block of Highway 92 in Washington. The subject had left the store. An officer responded. A report will be filed.

 

All other thefts

Items were reported stolen from a residence in the 400 block of East Washington Street in Washington. An officer responded. The incident was documented. The caller later advised she found the items.

A gas drive-off in the amount of $10.23 was reported Wednesday evening in the 1000 block of West Madison Street in Washington. Officers were unable to locate.

 

Disorderly conduct

A domestic dispute was reported Wednesday evening in the 2600 block of Redwood Avenue in Washington. One subject had injuries. Officers, Washington County Ambulance, and Ainsworth QRS responded. Verbal only. One subject was transported to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

A caller in the 500 block of South 11th Avenue in Washington reported Wednesday night his 15-year-old son was causing a disturbance at the residence. An officer spoke with the caller and the son. The problem was resolved.

 

Truancy

A caller in the 500 block of South 11th Avenue in Washington reported Wednesday morning her 15-year-old son was refusing to go to school and yelling. An officer responded. The subject was transported to school.

 

Trespass

A caller in the 700 block of South C Avenue in Washington reported Wednesday afternoon several juveniles were ringing the doorbell and would not leave. An officer responded. The juveniles were gone on arrival.

Several juveniles were reported on the roof of a building at East Third Street and North Sixth Avenue in Washington throwing things off the roof. An officer was unable to locate.

 

Animal complaints

A loose dog was reported Wednesday afternoon in the 1600 block of Country Club Road in Washington. An officer spoke with all parties. A child had let the dog out and there was a miscommunication between the adults.

 

Suspicious activity

A silver pickup was reported parked in the 2700 block of 220th Street in Washington Wednesday night for 45 minutes and the lights were on. It appeared someone had walked down into the ditch. The subjects were doing inspections on underground pipelines.

 

Welfare check

A welfare check was requested Wednesday morning on a subject in the 300 block of North Grant Street in Crawfordsville. An officer contacted the subject's ex-husband, who hadn't seen her for a few days. The subject was fine and did not have a working phone. She did not live at the address any longer.
