Arrests

Andrew Marshall Pearcy, 33, of Brighton was arrested Tuesday afternoon on charges of driving under suspension, possession of controlled substance – marijuana, second offense, and no insurance.

Randy Vincent Rarick, 31, of Washington was arrested Thursday afternoon in the 1200 block of East Washington Street in Mount Pleasant on a Washington County warrant for possession of a controlled substance, third or subsequent, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Jeffery Lee Chance, 37, of Brighton was arrested Tuesday night in the 500 block of East Madison Street in Brighton on a Henry County warrant for probation violation on original charge of third-degree theft. Rebecca Sue Bond, 35, of Centerville was arrested at the same time and location on an Appanoose County warrant for revocation of pretrial release.

Disabled vehicles

An officer reported an occupied disabled vehicle Tuesday night in the 2300 block of Highway 1 in Washington. The officer advised that they ran out of gas but they had someone coming to help them.

A caller Tuesday night in the 2100 block of Highway 1 in Washington reported a disabled motorcycle. An officer added it to the system.

Animal complaint

A caller Tuesday morning in the 1700 block of Highway 1 in Washington reported a large sow that got into his shop and made a mess. An officer responded. A citation was issued to Roger Escher of Washington for allowing livestock to run at large.

A caller Tuesday afternoon in the 500 block of South Eighth Avenue in Washington reported a dog, a Husky, barking since that morning, at the house across the street. An officer located two dogs at the residence. The Husky was without water, and the basset hound was running loose. A voice mail was left with the owner. A family was helping take care of the dogs, and planned to respond and address those issues.

A caller Wednesday morning in the 600 block of South Marion Avenue reported a dog in the neighborhood had been barking for two hours. An officer responded and spoke with the owner. The owner was advised that if law enforcement continued to get complaints, he would be cited. He was given a verbal warning at this time.

A caller Wednesday morning in the 500 block of South Marion Avenue reported a barking dog. An officer was advised and a second officer responded. The officer witnessed that the dog barked  once and the owner came right out to take care of the problem. Documentation was made.

Assault

A caller Tuesday night in the 1000 block of North Iowa Avenue in Washington reported her 13-year-old daughter had been assaulted earlier that evening. An officer was going to attempt to make contact with the male juvenile and his parents regarding shooting the juvenile female with a Nerf gun.

DP & Q

A caller Wednesday morning in the 500 block of East Madison Street in Brighton reported the neighbors were being loud and there were several subjects who were on his property.  He spoke to the neighbors and asked them to keep it down, but they refused. An officer responded. The area was quiet upon the officer’s arrival.

Drug/narcotics violation

An officer reported being out in the 2100 block of Lexington Boulevard in Washington conducting DRE, Tuesday afternoon. Charges were filed on Andrew Marshall Pearcy, 33, of Brighton for OWI, first offense.

Intimidation/harassment

A caller Tuesday night in the 1200 block of 275th Street in Brighton reported harassment from his landlord. An officer responded. The incident was a civil issue.

A caller Tuesday night in the 40 block of Parkside Estates Road in Washington reported her two juvenile neighbors threw rocks at her trailer that evening. She was unable to speak with the parents. An officer spoke with all parties involved. No further problems should arise.

Welfare check

A caller Tuesday night in the 1000 block of Tupelo Boulevard in Riverside requested a welfare check. Officers responded and checked the residence. No one was home.

An officer reported being out doing a welfare check requested by Johnson County on a possible suicidal subject, Wednesday morning in the 3100 block of Highway 22 in Riverside. An officer spoke with the subject, who stated he was not feeling suicidal.

All other theft

A caller Tuesday morning in the 300 block of North Marion Avenue in Washington reported a shoplifter in the store at about 9 p.m. the previous day, and requested an officer to review the video. An officer responded. Lisa Ellen Wenger of Washington was cited for fifth-degree theft, with a court date of Aug. 17, 2017. She was also advised she would no longer be welcome at the business or she would be arrested for trespass.

All other offenses

A caller Tuesday evening in the 1400 block of Highway 22 in Wellman reported that last Saturday a crop duster flew too close to their house and sprayed chemicals into their pond and killed their fish. An officer spoke with the caller and gave her DNR information.

A caller Tuesday night in the 500 block of South Avenue B in Washington reported male juveniles were on her property with BB guns. They left going northbound on South Avenue B. An officer located the male juveniles and spoke with them and advised them of the city ordinance.
