Arrests

Amber Mae Rarick, 36, of Washington was arrested Monday afternoon in the 1100 block of South Ninth Avenue in Washington on a Washington County warrant for violation of probation on an original charge of OWI.

Traffic accident

A caller Monday night in the 200 block of Cedar Street in West Chester reported her daughter was in a minor vehicle accident. She hit a parked car. An officer responded. The accident occurred on private property. Information was exchanged.

Disabled vehicles

An officer advised he was out with a disabled vehicle, Monday morning in the 1800 block of 170th Street in Wellman. The vehicle was tagged and added to the system. No one was around.

Animal complaint

A caller Monday morning in the 400 block of East Main Street in Washington reported a dog had been tied outside since Friday and was barking, and had no food. An officer responded. The dog was impounded at the dog pound, not to be released until the owner spoke with the officer.

A caller Monday morning in the 800 block of South Iowa Avenue in Washington reported a bat in the house. An officer responded and assisted the subject.

Dispatch received a call about an animal complaint, Monday afternoon in the 1000 block of Ninth Avenue in Wellman.

Assault

A caller Monday afternoon in the 1600 block of North Fifth Avenue in Washington reported a female subject was on a walk, and someone got out of a passing-by vehicle, assaulted her, and ran her over with the vehicle. Officers responded. There was no ambulance transport. An officer advised that the incident did not happen at that location but reportedly happened at the middle school area. An officer advised that the incident was under investigation and a report would be filed.

Civil standby

A caller Monday afternoon in the 1600 block of 335th Street in Brighton requested a civil standby to retrieve a few items from a residence. An officer responded. Items were retrieved. There was no problem.

Family offense non-violent

A caller Monday morning in the 300 block of East Sixth Street in Washington reported a verbal domestic situation at the residence. An officer responded. The situation was verbal, and both subjects had calmed down. The male party was intoxicated, and another family member was at the residence and was going to keep the two apart.

Fraud

A subject in the lobby reported a fraud, Monday afternoon in the 3000 block of Peaceful Drive in Riverside. An officer spoke with subjects. Documentation was made. The subjects had already worked with the bank.

A caller Monday afternoon in the 1600 block of South Airport Road in Washington reported credit card fraud in the amount of $260 in fuel purchases. An officer responded. A report will be filed.

Runaways/missing person

A subject Monday afternoon was in the lobby in the 800 block of East Madison Street in Washington, reporting her son was missing since the previous evening. An officer spoke with the subject and planned to attempt to locate the juvenile. The caller later advised that her son showed up at work. Officers were advised.

Vandalism

A caller Monday morning in the 1500 block of East Washington Street in Washington reported a shattered glass door the previous night and requested to see an officer. The damage was possibly weather-related.

All other theft

A caller Monday morning in the 100 block of South Iowa Avenue in Washington reported a possible theft. An officer responded. There was no theft.

A caller Monday morning in the 200 block of East Fifth Street in Washington reported the theft of two bicycles overnight. Both were bought at the bike auction and were Ambush F520 brand, and were blue, black and white in color. An officer was advised for documentation. The caller also advised they had a white mini scooter taken from the library three days earlier.

A caller Monday afternoon in the 1200 block of North Third Avenue in Washington reported the theft of a rain gauge by his flagpole. It was described as a copper tube on a brass faucet with blue leaves on it. An officer was advised for documentation.

All other offenses

A caller Monday afternoon in the 1600 block of North Fifth Avenue in Washington reported that an abandoned bicycle in the alley behind her residence had been there for a couple of weeks. It was red with a black seat and was leaning against a fence in the backyard. An officer picked up the bike, a red and silver Schwinn Panther, and took it to the bike shed.
