Carlos Robert Cisnero Jr., 23, of Washington was arrested Monday morning in the 2100 block of Lexington Boulevard in Washington on charges of failure to appear for pretrial conference on original charge of OWI, first offense, and supplying alcohol to person under the legal age.

Gary Edward Showman, 50, of Washington was arrested Monday night in the 100 block of East Third Street in Washington on a charge of public intoxication.

Disabled vehicles

A caller Monday morning in the 3000 block of 175th Street in Riverside reported a vehicle that had been broken down was along the side of the road for a week. An officer responded and requested a towing company to tow the vehicle, which was then entered as towed.

An officer reported being out with an unoccupied disabled vehicle, Monday afternoon in the 1700 block of 170th Street in Wellman. The vehicle was tagged and added to the system.

Fire calls

A caller Monday afternoon in the 300 block of East Washington Street in Washington reported possibly smelling a natural gas leak in one of their small rooms. They were going to get everyone out of the store. Washington Fire Department responded, and Alliant was notified and responded. There was no problem. Everything was fine at the business.


A caller Monday afternoon in the 500 block of East Seventh Street in Washington reported a dispute with a possible assault. An officer responded. The incident was documented.

Civil standby

An officer reported being out with a subject in reference to a civil standby, Monday morning in the 500 block of North Iowa Avenue in Washington. Items were retrieved, and there was no issue.

An officer advised that he would be en route to do a civil standby, Monday night in the 800 block of South Third Avenue in Washington. The civil standby was conducted.

DP & Q

A caller Monday afternoon in the 600 block of West Tyler Street in Washington reported the upstairs neighbor’s dog had been barking and whining all morning. She didn’t think they were home, and no one was in the office. Dispatch was unable to locate a PBX for the owner. Documentation was made.

Family offense non-violent

A caller Monday afternoon in the 800 block of North Sixth Avenue in Washington reported her ex-husband and his family were refusing to let her see their son, and she was not allowed on the property. An officer responded. The child went with the caller. The officer also spoke to the owner, who advised the caller was allowed permission to be at the residence to see her child and visit her “ex,” although not allowed to be inside.


A caller Monday night in the 3100 block of 220th Street in Washington reported fraudulent activity on a credit card. An officer responded and spoke with the subject. A report will be filed.


A message was left on the Police Department answering machine Sunday evening from a caller in the 300 block of West Main Street in Washington who requested to speak with an officer regarding threats he received from a juvenile. On Monday morning, an officer spoke with the caller, who was requesting documentation.


A caller Monday night in the 2400 block of Highway 92 in Washington reported a shoplifter in the store. Officers responded. Heath Daniel Peiffer, 45, of Keota was cited into court for fifth-degree theft and driving while license under suspension. An officer gave the subject a ride to a residence in t own.

Welfare check

A caller Monday morning in the 2100 block of Highway 1 in Washington reported a man sitting alongside the road with no shirt on. Officers responded. The subject was walking into town to meet a friend and get a ride to work in Pella.

An officer advised being out doing a welfare check, Tuesday morning in the 700 block of 11th Street in Wellman. The subject seemed intoxicated but was OK.

All other theft

A caller Monday afternoon in the 1000 block of West Madison Street in Washington reported a gas drive-off approximately 10 minutes earlier. A subject left without paying for $12.99 in gas. There was no vehicle description. An officer was advised for documentation purposes.

All other offenses

A caller Monday night in the 600 block of Fourth Street in Wellman reported her sister was in a verbal argument with her boyfriend, and he wouldn’t give her car keys back. Officers responded. The incident was verbal only, and the male subject left on foot. They were advised to call back in if he returned to the residence.
