Arrests

Anthony Lamont McCoy, 36, of Wellman, was arrested Wednesday morning in the 2100 block of Lexington Boulevard in Washington on a Washington County warrant for violation of probation on an original charge of prohibited acts manufacturing, delivery, conspiracy or possession of marijuana. Ambrashia Marie Chrzan, 29, of Wellman, was arrested at the same time and location on a Washington County warrant for violation of probation on an original charge of prohibited acts manufacturing, delivery, conspiracy or possession of marijuana.

Andrew Marshall Pearcy, 33, of Brighton, was arrested Wednesday night in the 300 block of West Main Street in Brighton on a Keokuk County warrant for failure to appear.

Traffic accident

A caller Wednesday morning at Highway 92 and Cedar Avenue in Keota reported he swerved to miss a deer and went into the ditch. He was complaining of back and leg pain. Officers, an ambulance, Washington Fire Rescue, Keota Fire and Keota First Responders responded. Damages amounted to more than $1,500, and a state accident report was given. A towing service responded and towed the vehicle. The ambulance transported one subject to University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City.

A caller Thursday morning at 200th Street and Underwood Avenue in Ainsworth reported a car-vs.-deer accident. The vehicle was drivable. An officer was advised. The accident was documented for insurance purposes. The caller was advised that, if damages amounted to more than $1,500, he could fill out a state accident report.

Assault

Callers at the police department reported an assault, Wednesday afternoon in the 1100 block of South Avenue B in Washington. An officer spoke with the subjects.  A report will be filed. Charges will be filed on a male juvenile for serious assault.

Suspicious activity

A caller Wednesday night in the 200 block of Second Street in Kalona reported that youngsters were pounding on their door, then leaving. This had occurred twice in the previous 20 minutes. An officer checked the area and was unable to locate anyone.

A caller Wednesday night in the 700 block of North Iowa Avenue in Washington reported that a vehicle sitting in front of the neighbor’s house had been running. It was a blue Ford Explorer. No one was around. There were no license plates on the vehicle. They just left the lights on.

Vandalism

A caller Wednesday morning in the 300 block of Franklin Street in West Chester reported his vehicle was broken into at the residence while it was parked in the carport. A window was broken. At the time of the call, nothing was missing. An officer spoke with the caller. Nothing was missing. The information was documented for insurance purposes.

All other offenses

A caller Wednesday morning in the 200 block of Schnoebelen Street in Riverside reported an odor coming toward the school from the northwest, where there were a tractor and an anhydrous tank in a field. An officer responded and was unable to locate an odor. The tractor was unattended in the field.
