Kevin Douglas McDole, 36, of Washington, was arrested Tuesday morning in the 3300 block of Vine Avenue in Ainsworth for probation violation on an original charge of serious assault.

Alexander Voytko, 21, homeless, was arrested Tuesday afternoon in the 600 block of Ninth Avenue in Wellman for domestic assault causing injury.

Byron Alexander Stevens, 39, of Iowa City, was arrested Tuesday afternoon in the 1100 block of Enterprise Drive in Riverside for operating while intoxicated, driving while revoked, careless driving and expired registration.

Jamie Joe Nichols, 34, of Ainsworth, was arrested Tuesday night at Lincoln and Old Military Road in Ainsworth for operating while intoxicated and driving under suspension.


Traffic accidents

A vehicle vs. deer accident was reported Tuesday morning in the 2900 block of Spruce Avenue in Washington. The incident was documented.


Drug/narcotics violation

A caller in the 2400 block of Robbins Court reported Tuesday afternoon her daughter had just left in her vehicle and she was under the influence of prescription drugs. She was also taking things from the residence that weren’t hers. Officers spoke with the caller. She did not wish to pursue charges. The incident was documented.



A caller in the 400 block of South C Avenue in Washington reported Tuesday morning a possible fraudulent listing on Craig’s List. Officers responded. It was a scam trying to obtain personal information.


Stolen property

An abandoned truck was reported in the 3100 block of Orange Avenue in Wayland. Officers responded. The truck had been stolen out of Henry County. The owner took possession of the vehicle.


All other thefts

A boat motor and a riding lawn mower were reported stolen from a machine shed in the 2600 block of Kiwi Avenue in Washington Tuesday afternoon. The incident is under investigation.



Juveniles were reported hanging out of windows in the 400 block of East Main Street in Brighton Tuesday afternoon and throwing half full cans of pop at the caller’s residence. Officers responded.



A caller in the 90 block of East First Street in Riverside reported Tuesday morning a subject out of Iowa City was harassing him. Officers attempted to contact the caller.


Animal complaint

Officers were requested Tuesday afternoon in the 500 block of North Second Avenue in Washington. A dog chased the meter reader and it was still loose. No one would come to the door. The dogcatcher took possession of the animal. David Leroy Harrison of Washington was cited for allowing a dog to run at large.

Brenda Lee Williams, 45, of Brighton, was cited Tuesday afternoon in the 400 block of East Main Street in Brighton for allowing a dog to run at large.



Loud music was reported Tuesday afternoon in the 200 block of West Main Street in Washington. Officers responded.


All other offenses

An issue with a student wandering off school grounds was reported Tuesday morning in the 800 block of North Fourth Avenue in Washington. Officers responded. The child was located.

An officer was requested Tuesday morning in the 300 block of South Fourth Avenue in Washington to assist with a situation between students. The students were counseled and the parents were notified.

A caller in the 200 block of West Main Street in Washington reported Tuesday afternoon she believed her landlord was withholding her mail. Officers spoke with the landlord. He was advised to turn over the mail.


Family offense non violent

An officer reported being out with a domestic situation in the 500 block of South Mechanic Street in Brighton Tuesday afternoon. The parties were separated.


Suspicious activity

A caller in the 1800 block of Orange Avenue in Washington reported Tuesday night that someone was possibly outside the residence on foot. Officers were unable to locate.
