Arrests

Sierra Rose Rube, 26, of Fort Madison, was arrested Wednesday morning in the 2400 block of Highway 92 in Washington on a charge of fifth-degree theft.

Amy Marie Kramer, 37, of Ainsworth, was arrested Wednesday night in the 200 block of North Railroad Street in Ainsworth on charges of possession of controlled substance – marijuana, first offense, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

 

Traffic accident

A caller Wednesday morning in the 700 block of West Main Street in Washington reported that someone hit his son’s vehicle sometime during the night while it was parked in Washington. The front left quarter panel was damaged. The vehicle was a 2004 Grand Am, just purchased Tuesday. An officer responded. Drivers’ information was exchanged.

A caller Wednesday noon in the 200 block of West Madison Street in Washington reported being in an accident with no injuries. The vehicles were a red truck and a white Envoy. An officer responded. Damages were under $1,500. Photos were taken, and information was exchanged.

A caller Wednesday afternoon in the 500 block of Fourth Street in Wellman reported that sometime overnight someone drove over the concrete wall and damaged her property. There was damage to her fence and trees as well as the alley and the neighbors’ yard. An officer responded. The suspect vehicle and the operator were located. They made an agreement with the caller to repair any damages. Documentation was made.

 

Animal complaint

A caller Wednesday night in the 1700 block of Dogwood Avenue in Keota reported a subject’s dog was on his property, and it was an ongoing issue that was supposed to be resolved. An officer responded. The dog owner was not home. The caller planned to hold onto the dog until the owner came home. An officer will be sending a certified citation to the owner for allowing a dog to run at large.

 

Assault

A caller Wednesday afternoon in the 200 block of A Avenue in Kalona reported a 13-year-old who was abusive toward her mother and her siblings. An officer responded and spoke with the parties. The parties were separated for the night.

 

Disorderly conduct

A caller Wednesday afternoon in the 600 block of South Fourth Avenue in Washington reported a resident was physical with a staff member and a roommate. Officers responded. The parties were separated.

 

DP & Q

A caller Wednesday night in the 500 block of 11th Street in Kalona reported that their neighbors were throwing snowballs at their window again. An officer responded. The father of the juveniles planned to rectify the issue. One juvenile ran from the officer and was located by his mother at a friend’s residence. The parents planned to rectify that issue, as well.

 

Fraud

A caller Wednesday morning in the 500 block of Park Street in Ainsworth reported a computer scam and requested to speak with a deputy. An officer spoke with the caller. The information was documented.

A caller Wednesday afternoon in the 80 block of North Glasgow Street in Riverside reported that a business obtained access to her computer and bank account to issue a refund. The money was not transferred to the bank, and she realized it was a scam. The bank had been notified. An officer spoke with the caller. The information was documented.

 

Suspicious activity

A caller Wednesday morning in the 1600 block of North Fourth Avenue in Washington reported a suspicious male kept knocking on the door. This was the second day in a row, and he had knocked on the door for 10 minutes on Tuesday. The subject drove a red truck. An officer checked the area and was unable to locate the subject.

 

Welfare check

A caller Thursday morning in the 300 block of North Avenue C in Washington requested an attempt to locate and welfare check on a subject who was supposed to be between Cedar Rapids and Washington. An officer spoke with the caller, and information was sent out for attempt to locate/welfare check to east central and southeastern Iowa. Documentation was made.

 

All other theft

A caller Wednesday morning in the 1000 block of West Madison Street in Washington reported a gas drive-off of $54.82. The vehicle, a silver Tahoe, was then driven east on Madison Street. An officer made contact with the registered owner, who planned to return and pay.
