Arrests

Dalton Gene Stephens, 26, of Wapello, was arrested Wednesday afternoon in the 12000 block of County Road G56 in Wapello on a Washington County warrant for second-degree criminal mischief, driving while barred, possession of controlled substance, first offense – marijuana, and eluding.

Traffic accident

A caller Wednesday afternoon at Ginkgo Avenue and 190th Street in West Chester reported a two-vehicle accident with no trap. Vehicles did not roll. Officers, Wellman QRS, Wellman Fire, Wellman Rescue, two ambulances, and AirCare responded. West Chester QRS was paged, with no response. AirCare transported one patient to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, and an ambulance transported one patient to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. A towing service responded with two flatbeds for both vehicles. A state accident report will be filed.

A caller Wednesday afternoon in the 300 block of North Marion Avenue in Washington reported a traffic accident in the parking lot. Damage was under $1,500, and drivers’ information was exchanged.

Traffic other

A caller Wednesday morning at South Eighth Avenue and East Tyler Street in Washington reported an improperly parked vehicle under the street sign. The vehicle was a red Ford F-150 truck with no license plates on it. An officer responded and placed a 24-hour tow tag on it.

Animal complaint

A caller Wednesday afternoon in the 1400 block of South Avenue E in Washington reported that the dog belonging to the neighbors was on her property. A citation will be issued to the dog owner.

Assault

A caller Wednesday evening in the 400 block of North Ella Street in Riverside reported her ex-boyfriend was there from Colorado and showed up unannounced on Sunday, intoxicated and shoving her around. He showed up again on Monday. The caller requested to speak with a deputy. An officer spoke with the caller. The subject had left on Tuesday morning. The officer attempted to make contact with him, with no answer. The caller was advised to block the subject on Facebook and on her cellphone.

Barking dog

A caller Wednesday night in the 400 block of East Van Buren Street in Washington reported several barking dogs in the neighborhood. An officer responded. The dogs were quiet upon the arrival of the officer, who spoke with the owners and made them aware of the complaint.

Hang-up 911 calls

Dispatch reported receiving a hang-up 911 call, Wednesday night in the 200 block of Washington Street in Ainsworth. An officer responded and was unable to locate the caller in Ainsworth or at her apartment in Washington.

Intimidation/harassment

A caller Wednesday morning in the 400 block of East Washington Street in Washington reported being harassed by a female subject via social media. The caller called back, advising that he no longer needed to speak with an officer.

A caller Wednesday afternoon in the 100 block of B Avenue in Kalona reported receiving information that a male subject was harassing and threatening his daughter. An officer spoke with the caller, advising that his daughter was of an adult age and needed to call in herself.

A caller Wednesday evening in the 600 block of E Avenue in Kalona reported an employee was receiving threats from an ex-boyfriend, and requested that a deputy respond. An officer responded. Documentation was made. The caller did not wish for the officer to speak to the subject.

A caller Wednesday night in the 200 block of West Madison Street in Washington reported being harassed by a subject in the parking lot. An officer responded. The caller was gone upon the officer’s arrival.

Suspicious activity

A caller Wednesday night in the 2600 block of Wayland Road in Washington reported a suspicious vehicle in the trailer park. It was a black Yukon, and had been sitting there for about 15 minutes. An officer checked the area and was unable to locate the vehicle.

Welfare check

A caller Wednesday night in the 300 block of West Jefferson Street in Washington requested a welfare check on his father and his stepmother. An officer spoke with the subjects, who were fine. The father planned to call his son.

All other offenses

A caller Wednesday night in the 1600 block of North Fifth Avenue in Washington reported that his ex-girlfriend was inside the apartment he was staying in, and she had been advised not to be there. Officers responded and spoke with both parties. The issue was resolved.
