Arrests

John Edward Walling III, 22, of West Chester, was arrested Wednesday afternoon in the 100 block of Cedar Street in West Chester on a charge of criminal mischief.

 

Traffic accident

A caller Wednesday night in the 2500 block of Highway 218 in Ainsworth reported a car-vs.-deer accident with no injuries. It was unknown whether the vehicle was drivable. An officer responded. The vehicle would be privately towed within the next 24 hours. The officer gave the driver a ride to the Four Corners to wait for someone to come and pick him up.

A caller Thursday morning in the 2900 block of Coppock Road in Washington reported hitting a deer with his red GMC Sierra. The truck was drivable, and the deer was off the roadway. There were no injuries. The caller requested documentation for insurance purposes. An officer was advised for documentation purposes.

 

Disabled vehicles

An officer reported being out with a disabled transport bus, Wednesday afternoon in the 2800 block of highway 1 in Washington. They had help coming.

A caller Thursday morning in the 1900 block of Highway 1 in Washington reported that her car, a 2003 Pontiac Grand Am, broke down. An officer responded.

 

Curfew/loitering/vagrancy

A caller Wednesday night in the 300 block of East Jefferson Street in Washington reported that her juvenile son wouldn’t come home. He was on probation and had a curfew. He was possibly wearing shorts and an Iowa State sweatshirt. An officer responded. The curfew was not until 9 p.m., which was nearly two hours later. The caller agreed to call back when the son arrived back at the residence so the officers could come and speak with him.

 

Civil standby

An officer reported being out at a residence assisting with a civil standby, Wednesday night in the 2700 block of Quince Avenue in Washington. The officer assisted with the civil standby without incident.

 

Disorderly conduct

A caller Wednesday morning in the 600 block of East 15th Street in Washington reported that his 17-year-old son was exhibiting strange behavior and was being violent toward him. He was injured although refusing medical attention. An officer responded. The juvenile calmed down and agreed to go to school.

 

Fraud

A caller Wednesday morning in the 400 block of Washington Street in Ainsworth reported someone used her Social Security number to file their taxes – possibly her ex-husband. An officer spoke with the caller. The information was documented.

 

Intimidation/harassment

A caller Wednesday evening in the 100 block of Cedar Street in West Chester reported being harassed by her son’s girlfriend. An officer spoke with the caller. The caller requested documentation.

 

All other offenses

A caller Wednesday afternoon at North Avenue B in Washington reported being assaulted 3 ½ hours earlier. The incident was unfounded.
