Calvin Eli McCambry, 43, of Clinton, was arrested Tuesday afternoon in the 1200 block of 13th Avenue South in Clinton on a Washington County warrant for contempt of court on a child support case.

Santiago Ceniceros Garcia, 43, of Kalona, was arrested Wednesday morning in the 100 block of South G Avenue in Kalona on a Henry County warrant for forgery of government documents.


Traffic accidents

A caller Tuesday morning in the 1300 block of Highway 92 in Keota reported that a subject put his truck in the ditch. The driver was OK and said he called someone. The vehicle was a newer white Chevrolet Silverado. An officer responded. There were no injuries or damage. The operator had someone en route to help him out of the ditch.

A caller Tuesday morning at Highway 218 and the Highway 22 ramp in Riverside reported a truck in the ditch, and it appeared to be occupied. An officer responded. The truck had two flat tires, and a towing company was requested to respond and assist.

A caller Tuesday morning in the 1100 block of West Fifth Street in Washington reported a business van stuck in a snowdrift, and the van had also hit a sign. An officer responded and advised that they were able to get the vehicle out of the drift. Documentation was made. Damage was under $1,500. It was uncertain whether the van had hit the sign.

A caller Tuesday night at Highway 92 and Juniper Avenue in West Chester reported his wife went into the ditch. There were no injuries. The vehicle was a 1999 Oldsmobile. An officer responded. The vehicle was tagged and added to the system. It would remain in the ditch until Wednesday. The caller’s insurance had contacted a towing company.

A caller Tuesday night in the 1900 block of Highway 218 in Ainsworth reported a vehicle in the median on Highway 218 south of the Highland School. The subjects advised they were not injured. An officer responded and was unable to locate.

A caller Tuesday night at East Fillmore Street and South 12th Avenue in Washington reported an unoccupied vehicle in the ditch. An officer responded. A towing company pulled the vehicle out of the ditch.

A caller Tuesday night at 220th Street and Palm Avenue in Washington reported a vehicle in the ditch. It was a blue car with its headlights on. An officer responded and provided the subject a ride to Highway 218 and 220th Street, where he was picked up by a friend.


Traffic other

A caller Tuesday morning in the 700 block of Ninth Avenue in Wellman reported that a car belonging to the neighbors was blocking his driveway. An officer responded and made contact with the neighbors, who planned to get it moved.


Disabled vehicles

An officer reported being out with a disabled vehicle, Tuesday morning at Highway 1 and 190th Street in Washington. The vehicle had a flat tire, and help was on the way.

A caller Tuesday night in the 2600 block of Highway 22 in Riverside reported being out with an unoccupied broken-down vehicle with flashers on. It was added to the system.


Family offense nonviolent

A caller Tuesday afternoon in the 700 block of East Second Street in Washington requested to speak with an officer in reference to an incident involving a family member. An officer spoke with the caller and advised him of his options.


Tobacco violations

A caller Tuesday night in the 1700 block of East Washington Street in Washington reported a tobacco violation at a business. An officer also responded. A citation was issued to Margaret Taylor, 33, of Washington, for supplying tobacco to a minor.



A caller Tuesday morning in the 200 block of A Avenue in Kalona reported her child was refusing to go to school. She was told by school officials to have a deputy assist. An officer was en route and was disregarded because the child was getting up and going to school.



A caller Tuesday evening in the 600 block of South Seventh Avenue in Washington reported that someone drove through her yard and the neighbor’s yard, and the caller believed it was intentional. An officer responded. The information was documented.


Welfare check

A caller Tuesday night in the 700 block of Third Street in Wellman reported a welfare check on a subject he had not seen and whose mailbox was full of mail. An officer responded. There were tracks in the snow to the subject’s vehicle, and the vehicle had been cleaned off.


All other theft

A caller Tuesday night in the 500 block of North Iowa Avenue in Washington reported her son stole a laptop from the school. They had already been in contact with the school but would like an officer to respond and speak to the child. An officer responded and counseled the juvenile.
