Rene Osvaldo Calderon, 21, of Ainsworth, was arrested Monday afternoon in the 2400 block of Highway 92 in Washington on charges of OWI, second offense, reckless driving, interference with official acts and driving under suspension.

Jennifer Lynn Sargeant, 27, of Brighton, was arrested Monday night in the 2100 block of Lexington Boulevard in Washington on a Johnson County warrant for violation of a no-contact order.

Traffic stop serious

An officer reported being on a vehicle stop, Monday morning in the 300 block of North Marion Avenue in Washington. Justin Christopher Wagler, 37, of Washington, was cited into court for driving under suspension, first offense.

Traffic other

A caller Monday afternoon in the 400 block of West Third Street in Washington reported an elderly male driving all over the roadway on West Madison Street. He had just turned northbound onto South Avenue B. An officer responded and spoke to the driver about his driving.

A caller Monday night in the 800 block of West Second Street in Washington reported a vehicle hit their mailbox within the past 10 minutes. An officer responded. The suspect vehicle would have significant damage to the front end. It was possibly a silver Honda. The mailbox pole was concrete. The incident was documented.

Disabled vehicles

A deputy reported being out with a possible disabled vehicle, Monday afternoon at Highway 1 and Lexington Boulevard in Washington. The vehicle was tagged and added to the system.

A caller Monday evening at Highway 218 and 170th Street in Riverside reported her tan Ford F-150 was broken-down and she needed assistance. An officer responded and transported the subject to a Brighton convenience store to meet her ride.

Animal complaint

A caller Monday afternoon in the 500 block of South Avenue E in Washington reported a loose yellow Lab-type dog, and stated that it could be back at its residence by that time. An officer responded. The dog was inside the residence on the officer’s arrival. The owner agreed to make contact with the officer to verify rabies shots. The information was documented.

Barking dog

A caller Monday night in the 400 block of East Van Buren Street in Washington reported a dog barking for an hour. An officer responded and made contact with the owner, who was advised of the complaint and took his dog inside.

Disorderly conduct

A caller Monday afternoon in the 600 block of South Fourth Avenue in Washington requested an officer to the RISE Room for a juvenile who had broken out two windows. Officers responded. An officer transported the juvenile to the emergency room of the Washington County Hospital and Clinics in Washington.

Drug/narcotics violation

A caller Monday afternoon in the 2100 block of Lexington Boulevard in Washington reported that he would have charges on a subject for possession of controlled substance pending DCI lab results. A report was filed.

Hang-up 911 calls

Dispatch reported receiving two hang-up 911 calls, Monday night in the 3000 block of Vine Avenue in Crawfordsville. Officers responded and checked the area, and spoke with a couple of residents who lived nearby. The officers were unable to locate the 911 callers.

Public intoxication

A caller Monday afternoon in the 300 block of West Monroe Street in Washington reported that her 13-year-old son skipped school Monday and had been drinking at her residence and threatened one of his siblings. The caller requested an officer. Juvenile Probation was contacted. An officer responded and gave the juvenile a PBT (0.012) at their request. The juvenile is to be charged with possession of alcohol under legal age. Juvenile Probation arranged for transport to Eldora.

All other offenses

A juvenile caller Monday evening at First Street and Ginkgo Avenue in Wellman reported another juvenile was in the area making threats to him and his friends. An officer responded. The juveniles were not at the park or the post office, where the caller said they were to be. Dispatch tried calling the juvenile back, but no one answered the phone. The report was unfounded.
