Arrests

Abelina Rosaura Harrison, 18, of Washington was arrested Thursday afternoon in the 900 block of West Main Street in Washington on a charge of serious assault.

Natasha Marie Jones, 32, of Kalona was arrested Thursday afternoon in the 1000 block of 140th Street in Wellman on charges of disorderly conduct, interference with official acts, and driving while under suspension. Further charges are pending.

Ryan Allen Craig, 22, of Burlington was arrested Thursday evening in the 900 block of West Main Street in Washington, on a Johnson County warrant for application for revocation of probation child endangerment. An officer also issued the subject a warning for the operation of an ATV.

 

Traffic other

Dispatch received a report of a vehicle being driven erratically, Thursday afternoon in the 400 block of Highway 1 in Washington. The vehicle was last seen traveling  westbound on G36 from Riverside Road. An officer stopped the vehicle on Highway 1, and the driver was counseled.

An officer reported being at a vehicle stop, Thursday night at Highway 218 and 220th Street in Ainsworth after a driving complaint of the vehicle’s being driven down the middle of the roadway. Additional officers also responded. The subjects were intoxicated but not over the legal limit. They were picked up by a sober driver.

Disabled vehicles

A disabled vehicle was reported blocking the roadway, Thursday afternoon in the 3100 block of 130th Street in Riverside. The vehicle was removed from the roadway.

A deputy reported being out with a disabled vehicle, Thursday night at Highway 218 and 220th Street in Ainsworth. The deputy advised that the occupants had a flat tire but already had help on the way.

 

Animal complaint

A caller Thursday morning in the 200 block of Jefferson Street in Kalona reported two pitbulls were running loose in Richmond. This was an ongoing issue. The dogs were inside upon officer’s arrival. If the caller should decide to write a statement, charges would be filed. The incident was documented for the time being.

A citation was issued to Jesse Ryan Love, Friday morning in the 200 block of Jefferson Street in Kalona, for allowing dog to run at large. Two pitbulls were reported running loose the previous day.

 

Burglary

A caller Thursday morning in the 300 block of North Avenue B in Washington reported her lawn care provider found a window opened and a screen removed at one of her rental properties. An officer responded. There was no damage. The window was left open by the owner. Documentation was made.

 

DP & Q

A caller Thursday night in the 500 block of West Third Street in Washington reported the neighbors were yelling and being loud. An officer responded and spoke with the subjects. They agreed to keep it down.

 

Drug/narcotics violation

A caller Thursday morning in the 200 block of A Avenue in Kalona reported a female subject had been drinking and was possibly on drugs. She was acting strange and had threatened to harm herself and others. Officers responded. An officer transported the female subject to Washington County Hospital.

 

Intimidation/harassment

A caller Thursday afternoon in the 2200 block of Yucca Avenue in Ainsworth reported her husband had made threats to harm her and her children. There was a no-contact order that needed to be served on him. An officer attempted to locate the male subject, and he was not there. The vehicle was gone. The caller was advised to call if he returned.

 

Search warrant

A deputy reported being out executing a search warrant, Thursday evening in the 2100 block of Lexington Boulevard in Washington. Charges were filed on Natasha Marie Jones, 32, of Kalona for possession of a controlled substance – marijuana, second offense, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

 

Sexual assault

A caller Friday morning in the 2100 block of Lexington Boulevard in Washington reported sexual assault. Officers responded and spoke with the victim. They advised that it had happened in Keokuk County. Keokuk County was informed of the incident. An officer transported the subject to the subject’s home.

 

Shoplifting

A caller Friday morning in the 2400 block of Highway 92 in Washington reported having shoplifters in the office. Officers responded. Two female juveniles were given verbal warnings for curfew violation. There were no charges for theft.

 

Suspicious activity

A caller Friday morning in the 500 block of North Iowa Avenue in Washington reported suspicious activity. An officer was advised. The information was documented.

 

Welfare check

A caller Thursday afternoon in the 800 block of West Monroe Street in Washington reported a subject had not come by the business for a while. He had a check waiting, he had not paid his rent, and he had not been around for three weeks. An officer responded and did not locate the subject. The officer spoke to the subject’s sister-in-law, who advised he was at the bus station in Iowa City.

 

All other theft

A caller Thursday morning in the 1600 block of Juniper Avenue in Wellman reported he was missing a black trailer with ramps, taken sometime in the past couple of weeks. An officer spoke with the caller.  A report will be filed. The trailer was entered into the system.

A caller Thursday afternoon in the 300 block of North Marion Avenue in Washington reported that two juvenile males took two carts from the store. They were described as black males, approximately 13 years old, one wearing a blue shirt and the other wearing a red shirt. They were last seen heading southbound. An officer responded to the area and was unable to locate the two juveniles.

A caller Thursday afternoon in the 1100 block of South Avenue B in Washington reported three hurdles stolen within the past week. One was located, but it was damaged. The items were worth $100 apiece. An officer spoke with the caller. The information was documented.

A caller Thursday night in the 1000 block of West Madison Street in Washington reported a gas drive-off in the amount of $16. An officer checked the owner’s residence and was unable to locate. Contact was made later, and the driver was going to stop by in the morning to pay for the fuel.

 

All other offenses

A caller Friday morning in the 500 block of 11th Street in Kalona reported harassment from multiple subjects. Officers responded. The incident was verbal only. Documentation was made.
