Arrests

Randelle Denver Brown, 26, of Fairfax was arrested Monday afternoon in the 2300 block of Law Center Drive in Newton on a Washington County warrant for violation of probation on original charge of failure to affix tax stamp.

Dawn Michelle Entsminger, 45, of Washington was arrested Monday night in the 900 block of South Second Avenue in Washington on a charge of public intoxication, first offense.

Traffic accident

An officer reported being flagged down in reference to a traffic accident, Monday morning at Maple Lane and Cedar Drive in Washington. The officer responded. Damage was under $1,500. Information was exchanged.

A caller Monday afternoon in the 200 block of West Main Street in Washington reported a traffic accident with a Jeep Compass and a Ford Fusion. An officer responded. Damages amounted to more than $1,500. A state accident report will be filed. Paige Lauren Letcher of Washington was cited for unsafe backing on a highway.

A traffic accident was reported with a black Chevrolet 4D and a maroon SUV, Monday afternoon at West Washington Street and South Avenue D in Washington. Officers responded. Damages amounted to more than $1,500. A state accident report will be filed. Henry Wilford Harris of Washington was cited for failure to obey a stop sign.

Traffic other

A caller Monday morning in the 100 block of North 15th Avenue in Washington reported a subject was cutting down a tree near the street, and it could fall on a car passing by. An officer responded. They had cut the tree down and it was blocking the street. They were trying to clean it up. Dispatch notified J.J. with the city.

A caller Monday night at Highway 218 and the Highway 92 ramp reported a blue metal object in the roadway. An officer responded and removed the item from the roadway.

Disabled vehicles

An officer reported being out with a disabled vehicle with a flat tire, Monday evening at Highway 218 and 135th Street in Riverside. The officer assisted the occupants in changing their tire.

An officer reported being out with a disabled vehicle, Tuesday morning at Highway 1 and Kiwi Avenue in Washington. The vehicle was unoccupied and was added to the system.

A caller Tuesday morning at 192nd Street and Highway 218 in Ainsworth reported a disabled vehicle. An officer advised that the car was broken down but the driver had a mechanic on the way.

Animal complaint

A caller Monday afternoon in the 300 block of West Main Street in Washington reported a bat bite. An officer responded. The bat was passed on to Environmental Health for testing.

A caller Monday night in the 1300 block of Deer Run Drive in Riverside reported a loose dog in their subdivision. This was an ongoing issue. An officer responded. Upon the officer’s arrival, the dog was on its own property and the officer was able to get it secured. The officer was unable to make contact with anyone at the residence but did speak with the dog owner by phone. Someone was going to pick up the dog for the evening. A verbal warning for allowing a dog at large was given to the subject.

Assault

A subject in the lobby, Monday morning in the 200 block of A Avenue in Kalona, wanted to report an assault that had occurred the previous night. An officer spoke to the subject. Everything will be passed on to the county attorney’s office. The information was documented.

Disorderly conduct

A caller Monday night in the 100 block of West H Avenue in Kalona reported three people were arguing outside. A female was walking up the highway, a male was inside a teal Chevrolet Malibu, and another subject was outside the car. An officer responded. This was a verbal argument over driving. The female was going to walk home. All parties separated, and everything was fine.

Hang-up 911 calls

Dispatch received a 911 call from a subject who seemed rushed to get off the phone, Monday night in the 300 block of East Sycamore Street in Riverside. An officer responded and spoke to the subjects. They were having a medical issue for their juvenile child but advised they did not want medical attention.

Intimidation/harassment

A caller Monday afternoon in the 1600 block of North Fifth Avenue in Washington reported someone in the apartment complex left a note on their door saying derogatory things about her husband. An officer responded and was going to attempt to locate and speak to the subject about the incident. Documentation was made. Later in the evening, the officer responded to a report of harassment over the same incident. The subject who wrote the note was identified. Both subjects were advised to avoid having contact with the residents of that apartment.

A caller Monday afternoon in the 200 block of North Van Buren Street in Brighton reported that while at a business in Brighton, her brother made threats toward her. This was in reference to an earlier incident and ongoing custody dispute. An officer spoke with the caller and provided them with options. They will consult legal counsel about the child custody situation.

A caller Monday night in the 1600 block of North Fifth Avenue in Washington reported being threatened by another tenant. An officer responded. The incident was documented.

A caller Tuesday morning in the 1500 block of Orange Avenue in Kalona reported his family members were harassing him. An officer spoke with the caller. The information was documented.

Runaways/missing person

A caller Monday night in the 200 block of A Avenue in Kalona reported that her 12-year-old daughter ran away from the residence. They had checked the trailer court and multiple residences and could not find her. An officer responded. Prior to the officer’s arrival, the daughter was located. The officer responded and spoke with the caller. The juvenile was counseled.

Welfare check

A caller requested a welfare check on a subscriber they had received several silent calls from. An officer responded. Everything was fine.

All other offenses

A caller Monday morning in the 200 block of A Avenue in Kalona reported that neighbors put trash into her yard. An officer responded and spoke to the caller. They will advise their landlord of the situation. There were no identifiers. The information was documented.

A caller Monday afternoon in the 100 block of Westview Drive in Washington reported the building was being egged. An officer was advised for documentation and extra patrol.

A caller Monday afternoon in the 500 block of East Madison Street in Brighton reported her mother-in-law would not let her have her child. An officer spoke to all parties. The child will be staying with the mother-in-law for the time being. DHS was aware of the situation.
