Arrests

Timothy Charles Williams, 29, of Cedar Rapids, was arrested Thursday morning in the 2400 block of Highway 92 in Washington on a charge of trespass. He is also wanted out of Burlington. Rodney Dwayne Williams, 23, of Cedar Rapids, was arrested at the same time and location on a Linn County warrant for show cause Iowa Domestic Abuse Program original charge of assault domestic abuse strangulation.

Thomas Niles Pruitt Jr., 41, of Burlington, was arrested Thursday morning in the 300 block of North Gunnison Street in Burlington on two Washington County warrants for failure to appear for plea and sentencing on possession of a controlled substance second offense, and failure to appear for plea and sentencing on assault on persons in certain occupations.

Joshua John Brown, 34, of Wayland, was arrested Thursday afternoon in the 2100 block of Lexington Boulevard in Washington on a Washington County warrant for failure to appear for revocation hearing on original charge of OWI, second offense.

Kerry Jo Miller, 25, of Brighton, was arrested Friday morning in the 2400 block of Highway 92 in Washington on a charge of fifth-degree theft.

Traffic accident

A caller Thursday afternoon at Campbell Drive and Country Club Road in Washington reported that his vehicle was struck while parked in the street. The other subject was going to an appointment and left a note with a phone number. There was damage to the driver side rear door. An officer responded. Information was exchanged.

A caller Thursday night in the 1600 block of North Fifth Avenue in Washington reported that a blue truck hit a parked car on Fifth Avenue by an apartment complex. An officer responded and spoke with the driver. He did admit to hitting the vehicle but did not see any damage. The driver left his information for the owner of the parked car, just in case there was damage that he couldn’t see.

A caller Friday morning in the 1100 block of Ginkgo Avenue in Wellman reported that she hit a deer with a black 2012 Honda Accord. There were no injuries to vehicle occupants, but the deer was injured and in the ditch. An officer responded and was unable to locate the deer. It had run back through a property. Documentation was made for insurance purposes.

Traffic other

A caller Thursday night in the 800 block of East 15th Street in Washington reported a subject in the area riding a four-wheeler in the roadway. An officer responded and was unable to locate the subject.

Disabled vehicles

An officer advised locating an unoccupied vehicle along the roadway, Thursday night at 175th Street and Highway 218. The officer tagged the vehicle and added it to the system.

Fire calls

A fire alarm from Heartland Fire, for a Zone 4 sprinkler water flow, was reported Thursday morning in the 1000 block of West Madison Street in Washington. An officer and Washington Fire Department responded. There was no fire, but there was a broken water line.

A caller Thursday afternoon at Highway 218 and Henry Washington Road in Crawfordsville reported that  a barn house appeared to be on fire, located on the east side of highway 218 near Mile Marker 58. There was a lot of black smoke. Crawfordsville Fire responded and was unable to locate any fire.

Civil dispute

A caller Thursday morning in the 200 block of A Avenue in Kalona requested a civil standby. She tried to get her belongings back, and the male party threatened her. An officer responded. A fire pit was returned. However, other items were referenced (a Weed Eater), and that was a theft handled by another officer.

DP & Q

A caller Thursday evening in the 400 block of South Marion Avenue in Washington reported fireworks going off in the area. An officer located young juveniles who had been setting them off, and spoke with the father. There were no further problems.

Drug/narcotics violation

An officer reported getting results back from DCI Labs, Thursday night in the 2100 block of Lexington Boulevard in Washington. Charges were filed on Charles Hinh for possession of controlled substance with intent to deliver, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Family offense nonviolent

A caller Thursday morning in the 2100 block of Lexington Boulevard in Washington reported that her juvenile granddaughter was out of control and was hitting herself and trashing the apartment. Officers responded. The issue was resolved.

A caller Thursday afternoon in the 400 block of South Marion Avenue in Washington reported that his 12-year-old son was being defiant. An officer responded. The child was counseled and left for his appointment.

Fraud

A caller Thursday afternoon in the 300 block of South Iowa Avenue in Washington requested an officer in reference to fraud. An officer responded. A report will be filed.

Illegal dumping

A caller Thursday afternoon at 275th Street and Quince Avenue in Washington reported a trail of debris/aluminum siding starting on the Airport Road to 275th, then east, then south on Quince to the junkyard. The caller got a flat tire. An officer responded. A citation was issued to Shawn Justin Reimers, 39, of Washington, for driving while license suspended, sixth offense. He and his employer were to go back and pick up all of the debris from along the roadway.

Intimidation/harassment

A caller Thursday night in the 200 block of West Madison Street in Washington reported driving around, and subjects in vehicles stopped in front of her and harassed her. An officer spoke with the caller and was going to attempt to locate the harassing subjects.

All other offenses

An officer reported being out with a wanted subject, Thursday morning in the 1000 block of South Iowa Avenue in Washington. A few minutes later, the clerk’s office called to advise that the warrant had been quashed. No arrest was made.
