Arrests

Torrey Eugene Rickey, 42, of Carthage, Missouri, was arrested Tuesday morning in the 13000 block of Airport Road in Bowling Green, Missouri, on a Washington County warrant for second-degree theft.

Gregory Eugene Davis, 49, of Kalona, was arrested Tuesday night in the 3100 block of Highway 22 in Riverside on a charge of OWI, third offense.

Traffic accident

A caller Tuesday afternoon in the 300 block of South Farmer Street in Brighton reported that a neighbor was accusing her of putting a dent in her Ford Fusion with her Dodge Ram truck. An officer responded. The damage did not match and was from a lower-sitting vehicle or from being kicked. The report was unfounded.

Traffic stop serious

An officer reported being at a vehicle stop with a blue TrailBlazer with no license plates, Tuesday morning at Highway 22 and First Street in Kalona. Robert James Townsend, 18, of North English, was cited into court for driving while license under suspension, first offense.

An officer reported being at a vehicle stop, Tuesday morning in the 1000 block of Fifth Street in Wellman. Jordan Kenneth Entsminger, 21, of Washington, was cited into court for driving while license under suspension, sixth offense.

Traffic other

An officer reported being out with a trailer, Tuesday afternoon at C Avenue and Fourth Street in Kalona. The officer placed a 24-hour tow tag on the trailer.

Disabled vehicles

An officer reported being out with a disabled vehicle, Tuesday morning at West Madison Street and Parkside Estates Road in Washington. The vehicle had a dead battery and was to be moved later by a valid operator.

An officer reported being out with a disabled vehicle, Tuesday night at Highway 218 and 175th Street in Riverside. The occupants advised that they had help on the way.

Animal complaint

A caller Tuesday afternoon in the 100 block of North Iowa Avenue in Washington reported a pitbull and a black dog running loose. An officer located the dogs. A delivery person had left the gate open and the dogs got out. The owner had been out looking for them. A written warning was issued to the owner.

A caller Tuesday night in the 2100 block of West Main Street in Washington reported that about 10 to 12 sheep were out of their fence. City units responded and checked the area for the sheep. They located the sheep and were able to put them back inside the fence. They called the owner and advised them that the sheep had been out. They would be en route to make sure the fence was fixed.

Assault

A male party and a female party called 911 to advise that they had been assaulted, Tuesday morning in the 200 block of Eighth Avenue in Wellman. An officer responded. Both parties did get physical, but they agreed to separate for the day. If this continued and law enforcement had to return, both would be arrested.

A caller Tuesday night in the 600 block of West Fountain Street in Brighton reported a domestic situation involving a white male wearing blue pants and no shirt, who struck a female in the face with his hands. The subjects were now going eastbound on foot on Highway 78. The female was pushing a stroller. Officers responded and located the subjects near the Fire Department. The female denied any physical assault. There were no charges.

Barking dog

A caller Tuesday evening in the 400 block of Seventh Avenue in Wellman reported a dog barking in the area. An officer was unable to locate the dog.

Family offense nonviolent

A caller Tuesday afternoon in the 600 block of East 10th Street in Washington reported that her husband had been verbally abusive and she was afraid to go home, and requested to speak with an officer. An officer responded and spoke with the caller. The officer did a civil standby while she got her belongings from the residence. She planned to stay with a family member that night.

Intimidation/harassment

A caller Tuesday night in the 200 block of North Railroad Street in Ainsworth reported being harassed. A male subject was calling her and accusing her of stealing his credit card, and was sitting outside her residence in his vehicle. An officer attempted to make contact with the male subject, and left a message.

Runaways/missing person

A caller Tuesday morning in the 1700 block of 260th Street in Washington reported that his son ran away from home Friday, July 20. The juvenile’s information was entered into the system.

All other offenses

A caller Tuesday evening in the 100 block of North Iowa Avenue in Washington reported that a subject with whom she had a no-contact order arrived at her place of employment that day and on Monday. An officer spoke with the other party and advised them not to return to that establishment when the reporting party was working.
