Arrests

Dale Ravis Holliday, 45, of Elberon was arrested Monday night in the 200 block of West Madison Street in Washington on charges of fraudulent use of registration, no insurance, and OWI charges pending DCI lab results. The vehicle was towed.

Screve Nkanga Imbele, 25, of Coralville was arrested Monday night in the 4500 block of Melrose Avenue in Iowa City on a Washington County warrant for failure to appear for initial on an original charge of driving while license under suspension.

Darian Lee Patterson, 27, of West Chester was arrested Tuesday morning in the 1700 block of Highway 92 in West Chester on an Iowa City Police Department warrant for failure to appear for initial appearance in reference to OWI, second offense.

David Ryan Ehret, 39, of Ottumwa was arrested Tuesday morning at Highway 78 and Lake Darling Road in Brighton on a charge of driving under suspension, eighth offense.

Sara Nicole Young, 26, of Riverside was arrested Tuesday night at North Glasgow Street and West Third Street in Riverside on a charge of operating while intoxicated, first offense.

Traffic accident

A caller Monday afternoon in the 100 block of North Marion Avenue in Washington reported he had a minor accident at the post office and had some questions. An officer spoke with the subject at the police department. The other party was not with him, and he did get his name and insurance company but no license information. The report was for documentation purposes only.

Traffic other

A caller Monday morning in the 1000 block of North Marion Avenue in Washington reported a white GMC Sierra parked in his yard. An officer responded. The subject was working in the area and moved his vehicle.

A caller Monday night in the 1700 block of 200th Street in West Chester reported a vehicle that had not been moved for 45 minutes. The vehicle was an older gray Dodge Neon with Iowa County license plates and was parked next to a hog building, across the street from the residence. The caller called back advising that the vehicle had left, direction uncertain.

A caller Monday night in the 400 block of Eighth Avenue in Wellman reported his neighbor was blocking the alley with his truck and trailer. An officer was advised. The caller called back in and advised that the truck had left before the deputy arrived. The information was documented.

Disabled vehicles

An officer reported being out with a disabled vehicle, Monday afternoon at West Main Street and Highway 1 in Washington. Everything was fine, and the driver was going to be on his way.

Fire calls

A caller Tuesday morning in the 2500 block of Highway 92 in Washington reported there was a light fixture outside of the house that was on fire. The caller thought he had the outside fire put out, but it was unknown whether it was hot inside. The subject was unsure whether anyone was inside the residence, and could not get an answer at the door. An ambulance, and officer and Washington Fire Department responded. The ambulance was disregarded. The fire was extinguished.

A caller Tuesday afternoon at Highway 1 and 230th Street in Washington reported a small fire on Highway 1 south of 220th Street on the west side of the road. There did not appear to be anyone around. Washington Fire Department and an officer responded. The fire was extinguished.

A caller Wednesday morning in the 1400 block of Fir Avenue in Wellman reported a garage on fire. The garage was not attached to the house. There was a car between the garage and the house. Wellman QRS, Wellman Fire and Keota Fire responded. Keota was advised to disregard. The garage was a total loss. Alliant was also contacted to respond.

Animal complaint

A caller Monday morning at South Iowa Avenue and East Washington Street in Washington reported an injured animal underneath a bench on the southeast corner of Central Park. Officers responded and removed the injured groundhog.

A caller Tuesday afternoon in the 500 block of Highway 1 in Washington reported a car with a big black dog inside with windows cracked somewhat. An officer responded. Upon the officer’s arrival, the dog owner was back in the vehicle with the dog.

A caller Tuesday night in the 700 block of North Marion Avenue in Washington reported a dog that had been outside was whining, and the caller had given it food and water. Officers drove by, and there were two subjects outside with the dog.

Assault

A caller Tuesday night in the 600 block of East Tyler Street in Washington reported one of the residents was out of control and assaulted other subjects. Everyone else was out of the house, and no medical attention was needed. Officers responded. The subject had calmed down. The caller was going to contact their supervisor about the incident.

A caller Tuesday night in the 200 block of North Glasgow Street in Riverside reported witnessing a male subject assault a female. The male party left the area eastbound on foot. The female left in a vehicle. Officers responded, and located and spoke with the female. They were unable to locate the male party. A report will be filed, and charges are pending.

Burglary

A caller Monday afternoon in the 1300 block of 145th Street in Wellman reported a subject broke into her house and destroyed property, and was seen on the property by the landlord Sunday night or Monday. She had been gone for the past two days. An officer responded. A report will be filed.

Civil dispute

A caller Monday night in the 200 block of Yucca Avenue in Ainsworth requested to speak to an officer about a civil problem she was having with her son. An officer spoke with the caller. They were advised on their options.

DP & Q

A caller Tuesday afternoon in the 700 block of Seventh Avenue in Wellman reported someone was setting off large fireworks in the area. An officer spoke with the subjects at that residence, who were advised of the complaint and advised to stop.

A caller Tuesday evening in the 500 block of West Third Street in Washington reported her neighbors were being loud. A male subject was on top of a white SUV, stomping on the vehicle. An officer responded but was delayed due to another emergency call. Upon the officer’s arrival, there was no one outside the residence.

A caller Tuesday night in the 700 block of Seventh Avenue in Wellman reported subjects shooting off fireworks again. They were going off over the top of the residence. Officers responded. The subjects were warned that another complaint could result in charges being filed.

An officer advised being out at a residence in reference to a fireworks complaint, Tuesday night in the 700 block of Ninth Avenue in Wellman. The officer advised the property owners of the ordinance.

A caller Tuesday night in the 400 block of East Jefferson Street in Washington reported loud music in the backyard. An officer spoke with the subjects about the complaint.

A caller Tuesday night in the 400 block of East Jefferson Street in Washington reported hearing a lot of yelling and was unsure of exactly where it was coming from. An officer responded and spoke to the subjects again about keeping the noise down.

Fraud

A caller Monday evening in the 3000 block of Vine Valley Drive in Riverside reported the unauthorized use of a credit card. An officer spoke with the caller. Documentation was made.

Suspicious activity

An officer reported being out with a vehicle by the Kewash Trail, Tuesday morning between West Fifth and West Third streets in Washington. Everything was fine. The officer followed the two juvenile subjects home.

Trespass

A caller Tuesday night in the 800 block of North Fourth Avenue in Washington reported four juveniles on top of the new Stewart building. Officers responded. The juveniles’ parents were made aware of the incident, and the juveniles were sent home.

A caller Tuesday night at Poplar Boulevard and Nutmeg Avenue in Kalona reported subjects left beer cans and trash on the bridge. The camera did catch a license plate. The caller requested someone make contact with the subjects and advise them to clean up the items. An officer was advised. Contact was made with the owner of the vehicle, and the problem should be resolved.

Vandalism

A caller Tuesday night in the 600 block of West Tyler Street in Washington reported someone had done damage to his vehicle with fireworks. An officer responded. The caller requested documentation only.

Welfare check

A caller Monday afternoon in the 300 block of East Second Street in Washington requested a welfare check on a subject and her two children who did not return to Indiana after a visit with their father. An officer checked and advised that the subject had not lived there for a long time.

A caller Tuesday afternoon in the 500 block of South 10th Avenue in Washington requested a welfare check on his father. An officer was unable to locate the subject.

A caller Wednesday morning at West Third Street and West Fifth Street in Washington reported a female lying down on the Kewash Trail. Officers and an ambulance responded. The ambulance transported the subject to the Washington County Hospital.

All other theft

A caller Monday morning in the 700 block of East 14th Street in Washington requested to speak with an officer in reference to a stolen bicycle. An officer spoke with the subject, and documented a green Huffy BMX type bike as missing.

A caller Monday afternoon in the 1700 block of East Washington Street in Washington reported a gas drive-off 15 minutes earlier. There was no direction of travel or vehicle description available, but a possible license number for identification. An officer was advised for documentation, and dispatch left a message on a cellphone possibly associated with the owner. A female subject called in and explained that it was a miscommunication with the clerk, and she would call and take care of it.

A caller Wednesday morning in the 200 block of West Third Street in Washington reported a break-in that occurred at 11 p.m. the previous day. A black bag of cash and medication were taken. An officer responded and spoke to the subjects. The incident was documented.

All other offenses

Dispatch received a report of an abandoned bicycle in the Woodlawn Cemetery, Monday afternoon in the 500 block of West Adams Street in Washington. An officer transported the bicycle to the bike shed. It was a girls’ red Free Spirit bike and was an older model. Documentation was made.

A caller Monday night in the 2400 block of Highway 218 in Ainsworth reported a male walking by the highway. He was wearing a red shirt. An officer located the subject. He advised he got out of the vehicle after having an argument with another subject, and started walking. The officer located the vehicle and had them follow him to where the male subject was. The male subject got back into the car and left.

A caller Tuesday morning in the 200 block of Eighth Avenue in Wellman reported subjects in a business were serving alcohol and playing loud music after hours. An officer was advised but got called away to another call. Dispatch was going to have day shift personnel speak with the owner about the complaint.

A caller Tuesday morning in the 400 block of E Avenue in Kalona reported a male subject confronted him with a weapon. He had since left that location, but the caller wanted law enforcement to be aware of the situation. An officer responded and made contact with a female, who advised there was nothing going on at the residence and everything was fine. A report will be filed. Charges are pending on a male subject for providing false information to law enforcement.

A caller Tuesday night at West Monroe Street and South Avenue E in Washington reported that subjects threw a firework into her car. Officer responded and located the subjects. A citation was issued to Jacob Daniel Mask, 19, of Washington for discharging fireworks.

A caller Wednesday morning in the 3100 block of Highway 22 in Riverside reported suspicious activity in the parking lot. An officer responded. Upon the officer’s arrival, the subject left. The officer was unable to locate the subject.
