Arrests

Lana-Rae Lynn Meserole, 21, homeless, was arrested Thursday morning in the 800 block of North Sixth Avenue in Washington for disorderly conduct and interference with official acts.

Andres Emmanuel Gutierrez, 18, was arrested Thursday evening in the 1100 block of North Eighth Avenue in Washington for OWI and possession of alcohol under the legal age.

 

Traffic accidents

A caller in the 800 block of West Monroe Street in Washington reported Thursday morning that a subject hit two vehicles in the parking lot and didn't stop. An officer spoke with the driver and the owners of the vehicles. Information was exchanged.

Dispatch reported Thursday afternoon receiving information from a bus driver of a red car that went into the ditch at 190th and Ginkgo Avenue in West Chester. An officer responded and assisted the subject in changing the tire.

A caller reported Thursday evening his son was involved in a hit and run accident at 192nd and Vine Avenue in Ainsworth. The incident was documented.

A caller reported Thursday evening backing into a stump in the 100 block of Lake Darling Road in Brighton. The incident was documented.

 

Disabled vehicles

An officer reported Thursday evening being out with a disabled vehicle at 250th Street and Elm Avenue in Keota. The subject advised having help on the way.

 

Traffic other

A vehicle was reported sitting in the 100 block of East Fourth Street in Riverside and had been there for two weeks.

 

Fire calls

A grass fire was reported out of control Thursday afternoon in the 5500 block of Eagle Avenue SW in Kalona. Kalona Fire Department responded and extinguished the fire.

 

Assault

A caller in the 600 block of South Fourth Avenue in Washington reported Thursday that  an assault occurred at the school between her daughter and a staff member. An officer spoke with all parties involved. The assault was unfounded. The incident was handled internally. The incident was documented.

 

Burglary

A caller in the 800 block of South 13th Avenue in Washington reported Thursday afternoon someone used their Amazon account to purchase two items. An officer spoke with the caller. The incident was documented.

 

All other thefts

A vehicle reportedly left a business in the 1000 block of West Madison Street in Washington without paying for $25 in gas. Dispatch contacted the owner, who returned and paid.

 

Disorderly conduct

An officer was requested Thursday morning in the 300 block of South Fourth Avenue in Washington for a student who was not complying.  The officer was disregarded due to the father showing up.

 

Truancy

A student reportedly ran away from the school in the 700 block of South B Avenue in Washington Thursday afternoon. Officers responded. The student was transported back.

 

Animal complaints

Two dogs were reported in a house in the 200 block of Highway 92 in West Chester Thursday afternoon and no one had been home for days. An officer responded. The dogs were fine.

A dog was reported chained in the backyard of a residence in the 300 block of East Madison Street in Washington Thursday evening with no food or water. An officer responded and spoke with the subject.

 

Barking dog

A barking dog was reported Thursday morning in the 1000 block of North Marion Avenue in Washington. An officer responded. no dog was barking. The incident was documented.

A barking dog was reported Thursday evening in the 1200 block of Seventh Avenue in Wellman. An officer responded and was unable to locate anyone in the residence. The officer later responded to the residence and gave the subject a warning for allowing a dog to bark.

 

DP&Q

A subject was reported Thursday evening in the 1000 block of North Fifth Avenue in Washington yelling and cursing outside of a residence. officers responded. The subject was disciplining a child. They were spoken to and advised to keep it down.

 

All other offenses

Suspicious activity was reported Thursday evening with a vehicle in the caller's yard in the 700 block of 14th Street in Wellman. An officer responded. Everything was fine. The car slipped out of gear.

 

Welfare check

A welfare check was requested Thursday morning on a subject in the 400 block of Eighth Avenue in Wellman. An officer spoke with the subject.

A welfare check was requested Thursday afternoon on a subject in the 100 block of Angle Street in Brighton. The subject was fine.
