Arrests

Sedrick Morrel Johnson Jr., 34, of Washington, was arrested Thursday afternoon at East Tenth Street and North Fourth Avenue in Washington for possession of a firearm by a felon, OWI, possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, interference with official acts, fourth-degree theft and dark windows.

Andrew Marshall Pearcy, 32, of Brighton, was arrested Thursday afternoon in the 500 block of East Madison Street in Brighton on a warrant for failure to appear for a pretrial conference on possession of a controlled substance methamphetamine, possession of controlled substance marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. The subject also has a warrant out of Keokuk County for contempt of court failure to appear for child support hearing.

Jacob Daniel Ruenger, 26, of Washington, was arrested Thursday evening in the 2100 block of Lexington Boulevard in Washington on a warrant for failure to appear for initial on an original charge of driving under suspension.

 

Traffic accidents

A two-vehicle accident was reported Thursday morning in the 300 block of North B Avenue in Washington. Both cars were on the side of the roadway. An officer responded. Information was exchanged.

A two-vehicle accident was reported Thursday afternoon in the 1100 block of South B Avenue in Washington. An officer responded. Under $1,500 damage was reported. Information was exchanged.

A vehicle vs. deer accident was reported Thursday afternoon in the 1700 block of Highway 22 in Wellman. An officer was advised.

A caller reported Thursday afternoon someone hit his vehicle at East 14th Street and North Eighth Avenue in Washington. The incident was documented.

A vehicle was reported in a ditch in the 1400 block of Highway 78 in Brighton Thursday afternoon. No injuries. The incident was documented.

A caller reported Thursday evening that his vehicle was struck in the 1100 block of South B Avenue in Washington. An officer responded. Under $1,500 damage was reported. Information was exchanged.

A vehicle vs. deer accident was reported Thursday evening at 220th Street and Vine Avenue in Ainsworth. No injuries. The vehicle was drivable. An officer responded. The incident was documented.

 

Disabled vehicles

A vehicle was reported stuck in the mud Thursday morning in the 2600 block of Nutmeg Avenue in Washington. An officer spoke with the owner who advised her son got the vehicle stuck. She will wait for County Roads to let her know when the vehicle can be towed out. A Level B warning was issued.

An officer reported Thursday afternoon being out with a disabled vehicle at Ginkgo Avenue and 190th Street in West Chester.

An officer reported Thursday evening being out with a disabled vehicle at Highway 218 and 192nd Street in Ainsworth. The officer assisted with traffic control while the subject's parents changed tires.

 

Traffic stop serious

A vehicle stop was reported Thursday morning at West Tyler Street and South B Avenue in Washington. A juvenile was cited into court for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

 

Traffic other

A vehicle was reported parked illegally Thursday morning at Eighth Avenue and 10th Street in Wellman. An officer spoke with the owner.

 

Sex offender

A new sex offender registry was reported Thursday evening in the 1300 block of West Madison Street in Washington.

 

Burglary

The shed at the soccer field in the 600 block of West 18th Street in Washington was reported broken into Thursday evening. Items were missing. The incident was documented.

 

All other thefts

A caller in the 100 block of North Main Street in Crawfordsville requested Thursday afternoon to speak with a deputy about filing charges on her son for theft. An officer responded and will file charges on the juvenile for fifth-degree theft.

 

Intimidation/harassment

A caller in the 1600 block of North Fifth Avenue in Washington reported Thursday evening being harassed by death threats via phone. The caller called back needing an ambulance to check him out. Officers and Washington County Ambulance responded. No transport. Officers spoke with both parties.

 

Disorderly conduct

A caller in the 100 block of North Iowa Avenue in Washington reported Thursday afternoon a juvenile who was going to be transported 30 minutes away was becoming agitated An officer responded.

A caller in the 100 block of East First Street in Riverside reported Thursday afternoon her neighbor was putting garbage in her trash bins. An officer spoke with both parties. The caller will call back for a civil standby to get the rest of her belongings.

 

Animal complaints

An aggressive dog was reported on a porch in the 1000 block of East Second Street in Washington Thursday morning. An officer responded. The dog was gone on arrival.

A couple of black labs were reported barking Thursday afternoon in the 400 block of South Second Avenue in Washington. An officer spoke with the owner.

 

DP&Q

Loud music was reported coming from an apartment in the 800 block of South C Avenue in Washington Thursday evening. An officer responded. The resident was advised of the complaint. The caller called back requesting an officer responded due to the music still being loud. An officer responded. The problem was resolved.

 

All other offenses

A caller in the 1100 block of Second Street in Wellman reported Thursday night a subject came home intoxicated and had broken a window out of the residence. He was locked outside but was trying to get back in. Officers and the Iowa State Patrol responded. The subject stayed with a friend for the night.

 

Welfare check

A welfare check was requested Thursday afternoon in the 300 block of South Marion Avenue in Washington. An officer responded. The subject was fine.
