Arrests

Cynthia Lorrain Stowers, 51, of Richland, was arrested Friday afternoon at Ash Avenue and First Street in Richland for operating while intoxicated, open container and no valid drivers license.

Rene Osvaldo Calderon, 21, of Ainsworth, was arrested Saturday morning in the 1700 block of East Washington Street in Washington for OWI.

Chase Lee Stockstell, 22, of Kalona, was arrested Saturday morning at A Avenue and Fifth Street in Kalona on a Washington County warrant for possession of a controlled substance - marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Nina Mae Fogle, 36, of West Chester was arrested at the same time and location on a Washington County warrant for four charges of controlled substance violation and cited for traffic violation - improper plates on vehicle.

Tangela Monique Robertson, 27, of Cedar Rapids, was arrested Saturday afternoon in the 300 block of North Second Avenue in Washington on a Washington County warrant for two counts of forgery.

Rosa Marie Cutler, 38, of Ottuwa, was arrested Saturday afternoon in the 100 block of Lake Darling Road in Brighton for driving while barred.

Tarcheon Pokah Roberts, 27, of Washington, was arrested Saturday evening at South F Avenue and West Main Street in Washington for OWI and driving under suspension.

Blake Allen Donovan, 18, of Riverside, was arrested Saturday night at Underwood Avenue and 200th Street in Ainsworth for possession with intent to deliver and possession of alcohol by a minor. Matthew Laurence Hoenig, 18, of Riverside, was cited at the same time and location for possession of alcohol under the legal age.

Nathaniel William Scheppler, 23, of Wellman, was arrested Sunday morning in the 3100 block of Highway 22 in Riverside for speeding, failure to obey a stop sign, improper use of lanes, felony eluding, OWI, no drivers license, assault on a peace officer, reckless driving, and littering.

Tosha Nicole Clouse, 34, of West Burlington, was arrested Sunday morning in the 3100 block of Highway 22 in Riverside on a Coralville Police Department warrant for theft. Christopher Oberlander, 27, of Burlington, was arrested at the same time and location on a Coralville Police for theft.

Emily Jo Cahill, 21, of Ainsworth, was arrested Sunday morning at Vine Avenue and 220th Street in Ainsworth for possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and operating without a valid drivers license. Joshua David Anderson, 29, of Cedar Rapids, was arrested at the same time and location for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

 

Traffic accidents

A caller reported Friday morning a semi hit his vehicle in the 100 block of East madison Street in Washington. No injuries. They were in the parking lot. An officer responded. Information was exchanged.

A vehicle vs. deer accident was reported Saturday morning at Highway 22 and Juniper Avenue in Kalona. An officer responded. The vehicle was towed.

A vehicle vs. deer accident was reported Saturday morning at Highway 22 and Gum Avenue in Wellman. An officer responded.

A caller in the 100 block of South Marion Avenue in Washington reported Saturday morning someone hit his vehicle. An officer responded. Under $1,500 damage was reported. Information was exchanged. Maria Anderson was cited for unsafe backing on a highway.

A caller reported hitting a deer Saturday afternoon in the 2300 block of Highway 1 in Washington. The incident was documented.

A vehicle accident was reported Saturday evening in the 3100 block of Highway 22 in Riverside. An officer responded. Information was exchanged.

A two-vehicle accident was reported Saturday evening at Highway 22 and Highway 218 ramp in Riverside. No injuries. Officers, Iowa State Patrol, Washington County Ambulance, Riverside Fire and Riverside QRS responded. One subject was transported to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. Charges are pending.

A vehicle rollover was reported Sunday morning at Quince Avenue and 220th Street in Washington. Officers, Washington County Ambulance, Ainsworth QRS and Washington County Rescue responded. The incident was documented.

A caller reported Sunday afternoon a subject backed into his wife's vehicle in the 3100 block of Highway 92 in Ainsworth. An officer was advised. The incident was documented.

A two-vehicle accident was reported Sunday afternoon in the 1000 block of Highway 1 in Kalona. No injuries. Louise Therese Sattler was cited for following too closely.

A vehicle vs. deer accident was reported Sunday evening at Highway 92 and Larch Avenue in Washington. No injuries. An officer responded. The incident was documented.

 

Disabled vehicles

An officer was reported out with a disabled vehicle Friday morning at Highway 1 and 220th Street in Washington. The operator was letting the vehicle cool down. She had assistance en route to help her.

Two disabled motorcycles were reported Saturday evening in the 1400 block of Highway 22 in Wellman.

A disabled vehicle was reported Saturday night at Highway 92 and Sixth Street in Ainsworth.

A disabled white truck was reported Saturday night in the 2600 block of highway 1 in Washington.

 

Traffic stop serious

An officer reported stopping a vehicle at lake Darling Road and Highway 78 in Brighton Friday night. Items were confiscated. The incident was documented.

A vehicle stop was reported Saturday morning at Highway 22 and poplar Boulevard in Kalona. Charges are pending.

 

Traffic other

A vehicle was reported Friday morning at First Street and E Avenue in Kalona driving erratically. An officer was unable to locate.

A vehicle was reported parked in the 900 block of East 15th Street in Washington Friday morning and it had been there since the previous night. An officer responded and attempted to contact the owner. The officer checked back and the vehicle had been removed.

A vehicle was reported driving recklessly Saturday evening at West main Street and North H Avenue in Washington. An officer counseled the driver.

 

Fire calls

A fire was reported Saturday afternoon in a ditch in the 3300 block of Highway 218 in Crawfordsville. Crawfordsville Fire requested Ainsworth Fire and Olds Fire for mutual aid. The fire was extinguished.

A gas smell was reported Sunday afternoon in the 400 block of South Third Street in Washington. Washington Fire Department and Alliant Energy responded.

An ATV Gator reportedly hit a propane tank Sunday afternoon in the 1400 block of Walter Mapp Drive in Riverside. Riverside Fire Department responded and shut off the tank.

 

Burglary

A caller in the 2600 block of 200th Street in Washington reported Saturday night someone had broken into the residence. An officer responded. Nothing was missing. No evidence of a break-in. The incident was documented.

 

Fraud

A case of fraud/identity theft was reported Friday afternoon in the 1400 block of East Main Street in Washington. The incident was documented.

 

All other thefts

A caller in the 1200 block of East Washington Street in Washington reported Friday afternoon her aunt's purse was missing or stolen. An officer spoke with the caller. The incident was documented.

A subject reportedly left a location in the 300 block of North Fourth Avenue in Washington Sunday morning without paying their tab. An officer responded. The incident was documented.

A caller in the 3100 block of Highway 22 in Riverside reported Sunday evening her cellphone was stolen. An officer was advised. The incident was documented.

 

Intimidation/harassment

A civil standby was requested Friday morning in the 100 block of East First Street in Riverside. The caller also reported the neighbor had put garbage by her door again. An officer responded. No civil standby. The incident was documented on a shoebox full of trash by her door.

A caller in the 1600 block of North Fifth Avenue in Washington reported Saturday night receiving death threats from his girlfriend's ex-boyfriend. An officer responded and requested an ambulance. Washington County Ambulance responded and transported one subject to Washington County Hospital and Clinics.

A caller in the 300 block of Cedar Street in West Chester reported Sunday afternoon his ex-girlfriend was harassing him on social media. An officer spoke with the subject for the second time advising her with a verbal warning to have no further contact.

 

Disorderly conduct

A caller in the 300 block of South Fourth Avenue in Washington reported Friday afternoon a student threw desks and broke items. An officer responded. The incident was documented.

 

Truancy

A caller in the 700 block of F Avenue in Kalona reported Friday morning a juvenile student ran away on a bike. The family was contacted. An officer responded. The student's family did not want to report her missing at that time. She had been emailing the principal. The student later returned to school.

 

Liquor law violations

Two juveniles were cited Sunday morning at Redwood Avenue and 188th Street in Washington for possession of alcohol under the legal age.

 

Animal complaints

A caller in the 900 block of East Second Street in Washington reported Friday morning a small dog was in her yard. An officer responded. The reporting party had already found the owner.

A caller in the 1500 block of South Iowa Avenue in Washington reported Saturday morning his neighbor's kids kept calling his dog into their yard. An officer responded and the child was counseled.

A barking dog was reported Sunday afternoon in the 400 block of South Third Avenue in Washington. An officer spoke with the caller.

 

All other offenses

An officer was requested Friday evening in the 600 block of West Monroe Street in Washington in reference to drugs and the caller's daughter. An officer responded.

A caller in the 1200 block of East Second Street in Washington reported Friday night the neighbor's bonfire was too big and he was worried it may stretch over to his residence. An officer responded and spoke with two juveniles who were burning pallets. The incident was documented.

An officer was requested Saturday morning in the 2400 block of Highway 92 in Washington for subjects who were running around and not listening to employees. Officers responded and spoke with all parties. The subjects left. The incident was documented.

A caller in the 500 block of North Iowa Avenue in Washington reported Sunday evening a 2 year old walked across the street and started a car. A subject brought the child back to the house, but the parents didn't answer the door. An officer responded. The child had been returned to his mother prior to officers' arrival. DHS was notified.

A caller in the 700 block of East Second Street in Washington reported Monday morning a subject was being aggressive toward her and pushing her. Officers responded. The subject left prior to officers' arrival.

 

Suspicious activity

A vehicle was reported sitting in an alley in the 500 block of West Jefferson Street in Washington Friday evening and it had been there 20 minutes. A subject was reported beating on the car. An officer was unable to locate.

 

Welfare check

A welfare check was requested Saturday morning in the 1700 block of East Washington Street in Washington on a subject in a vehicle who wasn't responding. Officers responded.

An officer was requested Sunday afternoon in the 700 block of South Iowa Avenue in Washington for a welfare check. An officer responded. No one was at the residence.

A subject was reported sitting in a vehicle in the 1500 block of East Washington Street in Washington for about 20 minutes and the caller couldn't get him to respond. An officer responded. No problem.

 

Search warrant

A search warrant was reported executed Saturday morning in the 200 block of Ninth Avenue in Wellman.

 

Civil standby

A civil standby was requested Friday afternoon in the 1400 block of North Eighth Avenue in Washington. An officer responded.
