Arrests

Jimmie Lee Stringer, 26, of Washington, was arrested Monday afternoon in the 700 block of North Fifth Street in Belleville, Illinois, on a Washington County warrant for failure to appear for pretrial on assault causing bodily injury or mental illness.

Traffic accident

A caller Monday morning in the 1300 block of Ginkgo Avenue in Wellman reported hitting a deer Monday morning, which took out a headlight and caused a dent in the fender. The vehicle was drivable, and the deer was moved off the roadway. An officer was advised for documentation purposes.

A caller Monday afternoon in the 1800 block of Highway 1 in Washington reported a two-vehicle accident on Highway 1. The roadway was not blocked. One vehicle was a John Deere tractor pulling a plow. Damage was under $1,500, and drivers’ information was exchanged.

A caller Monday afternoon at Highway 218 and 175th Street in Riverside reported hitting a deer. The vehicle, a silver Dodge Caravan, had front-end damage and was not drivable. An officer responded. Damage was over $1,500, and a state accident report was filed. The caller arranged for a towing service to remove the vehicle.

A caller Monday evening in the 2100 block of Ginkgo Avenue in West Chester reported a car-vs.-deer accident with damage to the front driver side. There were no injuries to the occupants. The deer was deceased. The caller was advised to pick up a state accident report if damage was over $1,500. An officer was advised for documentation.

Disabled vehicles

A deputy reported being out with a disabled vehicle, Monday afternoon at Highway 22 and the Highway 218 ramp in Riverside. The deputy advised that the subjects got the vehicle started and were on their way.

A deputy reported being out with an unoccupied motorcycle. The deputy added the vehicle to the system.

A caller Monday night in the 3100 block of Vine Avenue in Crawfordsville reported a gray four-door car with a subject inside parked on the side of the roadway. An officer responded and was unable to locate the vehicle.

Fire calls

A caller Monday afternoon in the 300 block of East Third Street in Washington reported a hot tub on fire in the backyard. Washington Fire Department responded and extinguished the fire.

Animal complaint

A caller Monday morning in the 400 block of North Railroad Street in Ainsworth reported a dog wouldn’t leave her alone. It was a large red dog with a blue collar, and it was being aggressive. It did knock her down. A written warning was issued to the dog’s owner for allowing a dog to run at large.

A caller Monday evening in the 500 block of South Second Avenue in Washington reported a dog was trying to attack her. The caller got away from the dog, and did not want to speak to an officer. She wanted the officer to catch the dog. Officers responded and located the dog. The owner was able to catch the dog, and the dog was friendly.

A caller Monday night in the 2600 block of Highway 22 in Riverside reported horses out. The owners were there but needed assistance with traffic control. Officers responded and assisted.

Barking dog

A caller Monday afternoon in the 1200 block of North Second Avenue in Washington reported that the neighbor’s dog wouldn’t stop barking. The dog was in the alley. An officer spoke with the mother of the owner of the dog.

Burglary

A caller Monday afternoon in the 300 block of South Avenue C in Washington reported that someone broke into his pickup the first part of the previous week. A Galaxy Note 5, gold with black rubber case, was the only thing taken. The caller was unsure whether the vehicle was locked. An officer spoke with the caller. Documentation was made. He planned to call in when he located the serial number.

A caller Monday night in the 1900 block of 140th Street in Kalona reported a break-in to the residence. Her belongings were thrown all over the room, and the intruders possibly tried to take the TV. An officer responded. Nothing was taken. The information was documented.

Disorderly conduct

A caller Monday afternoon in the 2700 block of 285th Street in Washington reported that her daughter pushed the caller’s husband out of his wheelchair and ran out the door. The caller requested a deputy. An officer responded and was unable to locate the juvenile. The juvenile was entered into the system as missing. About 5 ½ hours later, the caller advised that the juvenile was located. They were cleared from the system.

Runaways/missing person

A caller Tuesday morning at North Fourth Avenue and East Sixth Street in Washington reported that a small child was outside by himself, and requested an officer. An officer responded. The mother of the child called in, reporting him missing. The officer transported the child to his residence and released him to his parents.

Shoplifting

A caller Tuesday morning in the 2400 block of Highway 92 in Washington reported a shoplifter in the store. Officers responded. Gerri Jo Ludwick, 56, of Morning Sun was cited into court for fifth-degree theft.

All other offenses

An officer reported they had a pickup order for a male juvenile, Monday afternoon in the 200 block of East Washington Street in Washington. The subject was picked up at the police department.
