Arrests

Levi Evan Iglehart, 24, of Crawfordsville, was arrested Thursday night in the 3300 block of Underwood Avenue in Crawfordsville on a charge of OWI, second offense.

Traffic accident

A caller Thursday night in the 1700 block of Ginkgo Avenue in Wellman reported her husband was driving a semi when a tractor sideswiped him. The tractor kept on going. The husband was trying to make contact with the tractor driver to make him aware of the incident. An officer responded. Information was exchanged, and the accident was documented.

A caller Thursday night in the 1800 block of Highway 92 in West Chester reported a car vs. deer accident with injuries. Iowa State Patrol, Washington County officers, Westchester QRS, Washington County Rescue, Washington Fire Department and an ambulance were all disregarded while en route. A deputy on the scene advised that the driver denied medical attention. A towing company responded and towed the vehicle.

Traffic stop serious

An officer reported being on a vehicle stop, Thursday morning at South Avenue E and West Monroe Street in Washington. Scott Lee Entsminger, 36, of Washington was cited into court for driving under suspension.

A deputy reported being at a vehicle stop, Thursday afternoon in the 100 block of North Taylor Street in Brighton. Lisa Marie Svestka, 46, of Brighton, was cited for driving under suspension.

Disabled vehicles

A caller Thursday morning at 190th Street and Juniper Avenue in Wellman reported a small black car on the shoulder of the road, with someone inside. The caller believed they had possibly broken down. An officer responded. The vehicle was unoccupied.

Animal complaint

A call Thursday afternoon in the 300 block of East Madison Street in Washington, regarding an animal complaint, was made in error.

A caller Thursday night in the 1000 block of East Main Street in Washington reported that a large pitbull dog had been running loose all day long. The dog was chasing other animals, and went through a nearby residence window into the home. The dog was put on the porch of the owner’s house. An officer responded, and a citation was issued to Kairon Patrick McClenan, of Washington, for allowing a dog to run at large.

Assault

A caller Thursday noon in the 600 block of South Fourth Avenue in Washington reported an incident that had happened at recess the previous day, and wanted to speak with an officer. An officer responded. Documentation was made.

Burglary

A caller Thursday morning in the 1300 block of Highway 1 in Kalona reported a break-in that occurred about 5 a.m. An officer responded. A report will be filed.

Intimidation/harassment

A caller Thursday afternoon in the 700 block of West Madison Street in Washington reported her niece was being harassed and threatened by her ex-boyfriend. An officer contacted the caller and left a message for her to return his call.

A caller Thursday night in the 500 block of North Avenue C in Washington reported that a juvenile male was harassing his daughter and told her to harm herself. An officer responded. The incident had happened at the school. They planned to make contact with the school the next day and advise them of the issue.

Motor vehicle theft

A caller Thursday afternoon in the 1400 block of E Avenue in Kalona reported that on Wednesday, items were located that had been taken in a previous theft. The items were a John Deere 2010 model garden tractor, a John Deere 2010 snow blower and a John Deere hitch model 54 blade, all located and returned to the business. An officer was advised.

Suspicious activity

An officer reported Thursday evening that a citizen advised that two suspicious juveniles were sitting on the dock of a vacant building at East Third Street and North Seventh Avenue in Washington. An officer checked the area and was unable to locate the juveniles.

Vandalism

An officer reported being out with a subject in reference to a criminal mischief complaint, Thursday morning in the 400 block of West Jefferson Street in Washington. Documentation was made of pry marks on the door, and the door was slightly sprung. This had occurred in the past two to three weeks.

A caller Thursday afternoon at East Tyler Street and South Sixth Avenue in Washington reported that a male subject had jumped out into the roadway and had damaged some vehicles nearby. He was wearing gray shorts and a black shirt. There was a female there also, trying to move him out of the road. Officers responded. The subject had damaged three vehicles and two mailboxes, and had turned over a recycling bin in the area. All owners were contacted about their damages, and contact was made with Systems Inc.

Welfare check

A caller Thursday afternoon in the 1300 block of Tulip Avenue in Riverside requested a welfare check. An officer responded. Contact was made, and the subject was fine.

A caller Thursday night in the 1600 block of North Fifth Avenue in Washington requested a welfare check on a subject. An officer responded and checked on the subject. Everything was fine. She was going to contact the caller.

All other theft

An officer reported that he was at a business in reference to a theft, Thursday afternoon in the 1000 block of West Monroe Street in Washington. Documentation was made that the theft of three king-size blankets had occurred between 11 a.m. and noon.

All other offenses

A caller Thursday afternoon in the 600 block of South Eighth Avenue in Washington reported that she misplaced or lost a business card-size plastic container with important information in it. The caller requested documentation. An officer was advised.
