Arrests

Travis Cole Brown, 32, of Washington was arrested Monday afternoon at 220th Street and Yucca Avenue in Ainsworth on a charge of driving under suspension and fraudulent use of registration.

Rebecca Lynn Lucas, 42, of Ainsworth was arrested Monday afternoon at Yucca Avenue and 220th Street in Ainsworth on a charge of driving while revoked and fraudulent use of registration. Further charges are pending per DCI lab reports as well as from an earlier incident.

Traffic accident

A caller Monday afternoon in the 1300 block of Highway 78 in Brighton reported a semi vs. pickup accident with two injuries. There was no trap, and the subjects were out of their vehicles. Damage was over $1,500. The State Patrol will be handling the accident report.  One subject was transported to the Washington County Hospital by ambulance. The vehicles were towed.

Disabled vehicles

An officer reported being out with an occupied disabled vehicle at the north junction of Highway 1 and 220th Street in Washington, Monday afternoon. The subject was tired and pulled over for a short while, and was going to be on his way soon.

A deputy reported being out with a disabled vehicle, Monday night in the 2700 block of Highway 1 in Washington. The deputy advised it was not occupied and was well off the roadway. It was added to the system.

Animal complaint

A caller Monday morning at 40th Street and Larch Avenue in Kalona reported two deer that were locked together and deceased, and requested a deer tag for them. An officer responded and issued deer tags.

Assault

A caller Monday afternoon in the 900 block of West Main Street in Washington reported that a female subject threw a beer at their vehicle in the park, broke their glasses and kicked the caller in the face. An officer responded and spoke with all parties involved. There were conflicting stories. No charges were filed.

Burglary

A caller Monday morning in the 1000 block of Second Street in Wellman reported the theft of three extension ladders, two chain saws, Sawzall, and air compressor. The caller reported that the theft occurred sometime within the past six months. A report will be filed.

Fraud

A caller Monday night in the 900 block of Ninth Street in Wellman reported a case of identity theft for a subject who lived in Wellman. An officer attempted to make contact with the caller via phone but was unable to. Documentation was made.

Intimidation/harassment

A caller Monday night in the 100 block of North Second Avenue in Washington reported he was being harassed and threatened by a subject in regard to a vehicle. An officer spoke with both parties. The situation with the vehicle was resolved.

Shoplifting

A caller Tuesday morning in the 2400 block of Highway 92 in Washington reported that they had a shoplifter who had left about 17 minutes earlier -- about 11:45 p.m. on Monday. They were going to review cameras and call back. The information was documented for the time being.

Vandalism

An officer spoke with a subject, Monday in the 500 block of South Mechanic Street in Brighton, regarding an earlier incident in which an arrow landed in a garage door. Chris Ingwersen was cited into court for shooting in the city limits according to the city code.

A caller Monday afternoon in the 600 block of South Fourth Avenue in Washington reported that a juvenile damaged her vehicle by pounding on it with his fists, and requested an officer for 3 p.m., when his mother would be on the phone. Charges will be filed on the male juvenile for criminal mischief.

A caller Monday afternoon in the 500 block of South Marion Avenue in Washington reported that someone egged his residence. He was not sure when it occurred. The information was documented.

All other theft

A caller Monday afternoon in the 1000 block of West Madison Street in Washington reported a gas drive-off in the amount of $15. The license plate given was a plate that had been removed. Documentation was made.

All other offenses

A caller Monday morning in the 1500 block of North Highland Avenue in Washington reported an Anza Magna 18-speed purple bicycle was left in her yard since Saturday. The bike was taken to the bike shed.

A caller Monday night in the 300 block of North Iowa Avenue in Washington reported her boyfriend had broken her belongings inside the residence and had left. An officer responded and spoke to the caller. The male subject was advised not to come back to the apartment or he could be arrested for trespass.

A caller Monday night in the 2200 block of 250th Street in Washington reported a woman screaming. Officers responded. The report was unfounded.

A caller Monday night in the 600 block of East Second Street in Washington reported a subject was intoxicated and jumped on him. Officers responded. The subjects were separated for the night.
