Arrests

Phillip Robert Meyer, 42, of Washington, was arrested Tuesday morning in the 1200 block of West Grimes in Fairfield on a Washington County warrant for two charges of child endangerment.

Maurice Antoine Adams, 38, of Washington, was arrested Tuesday afternoon in the 1600 block of North Fifth Avenue in Washington on a charge of public intoxication, first offense. Jermaine Isaac Alonzo Adams, 35, of Washington, was arrested at the same time and location on a charge of assault causing bodily injury, and public intoxication, third or subsequent offense. Sonya Nicole Adams, 37, of Washington was arrested at the same time and location on a Washington County warrant for failure to appear for sentencing on an original charge of fifth-degree theft.

Amber Mae Rarick, 36, of Washington, was arrested Tuesday evening in the 800 block of South Second Avenue in Washington on a Washington County warrant for violation of probation. Amanda Marie Knerr, 35, of Washington, was arrested at the same time and location on a Washington County warrant for controlled substance violation.

Traffic accident

A caller Tuesday morning at E Avenue and First Street in Kalona reported a two-vehicle accident. The roadway was not blocked.  The other driver possibly had a broken nose, although he was refusing medical attention. Officers responded. Damage was over $1,500, and a state accident report was filed. One vehicle was towed. Logan Wadsworth of Kalona was cited for failure to stop at a safe and clear distance.

A caller Tuesday morning in the 1100 block of Ginkgo Avenue in Wellman reported hitting a deer earlier that morning, about 4:30 a.m. The vehicle was drivable. The caller requested documentation for insurance purposes. An officer was advised.

A caller Tuesday morning in the 100 block of North Marion Avenue in Washington reported that while her vehicle was parked at the post office, it was hit.  There was yellow paint transfer on the rear passenger side. The caller requested documentation. An officer responded. Photographs were taken, and the incident was documented.

A caller Tuesday night at Highway 218 and the Highway 92 ramp in Ainsworth reported a one-vehicle accident with unknown injuries. Officers, an ambulance, and Ainsworth QRS responded. Ainsworth Fire and a Washington County rescue unit were disregarded. There was no medical transport. Damage was over $1,500. A state accident report will be filed. The vehicle was towed.

Traffic other

A caller Tuesday night in the 400 block of Ninth Avenue in Wellman reported that an older, beat-up Suburban pickup was partially blocking the alleyway. This was an ongoing issue. An officer was advised.

Disabled vehicles

A caller Tuesday night in the 200 block of North 13th Avenue in Washington reported a vehicle with no plates had been parked across from their residence without being moved. An officer responded and chalked the tires. An officer was going to check back on the vehicle the next day.

Assault

A caller Wednesday morning at Highway 22 and Vine Avenue in Riverside reported her ex-boyfriend was assaulting his aunt. They were all in a red Chevrolet Equinox pulled over on the side of the roadway. Washington and Johnson county officers responded. All subjects were separated upon the officers’ arrival. The females left in their vehicle, and a Johnson County deputy gave the male a ride to a location in Johnson County.

Burglary

A caller Tuesday morning in the 1700 block of Country Club Road reported property missing from the country club. Missing were a club car E-Z-Go golf cart (all black with a black roof, no windshield), and golf clubs that were fastened to the cart (pink covers on clubs, in a pink bag). Total value was approximately $4,000. The items went missing between Sept. 19 and Oct. 1. Keys were in the cart. An officer spoke with the caller. A report will be filed.

Family offense non-violent

A caller Tuesday morning in the 2200 block of 250th Street in Washington reported a possible violation of a no-contact order. An officer spoke with the caller and planned to consult with the county attorney on charges.

Hang-up 911 calls

Dispatch reported receiving an open-line 911 call, Tuesday night in the 1300 block of Tulip Avenue in Riverside. Upon callback, a subject answered but did not respond. An officer responded and spoke with subjects who lived in that area. All residents advised there was no problem and they had not called 911. The subject later called back again twice. A third call came in from a female advising they needed an ambulance for a 43-year-old male in pain. At this time, officers, Riverside QRS and an ambulance responded.

Runaways/missing person

A caller Wednesday morning in the 1000 block of South Iowa Avenue in Washington reported that they misplaced a resident, and requested assistance in finding her. The caller gave a description of the subject, who had left without her walker. An officer responded and was checking the area when they called back and advised they had located the female subject. The officer was disregarded.

Suspicious activity

A caller Tuesday afternoon in the 100 block of West H Avenue in Kalona reported a suspicious male subject had been sitting by the back of the building since that morning, wearing a red shirt and black pants. An officer spoke with the subject, who worked in Iowa City and was waiting for a ride. He was fine.

Trespass

A caller Tuesday night in the 10 block of Parkside Estates Road in Washington reported two trespassers on the property. An officer responded. They were different subjects, and everything was fine.

Welfare check

A caller Tuesday afternoon in the 400 block of West 18th Street in Washington reported a mini bus that had been parked in the area for about an hour and a half. It appeared that the driver was slumped over the wheel. An officer responded and was unable to locate the mini bus. An ambulance was disregarded.

All other theft

A caller Tuesday afternoon in the 800 block of South Second Avenue in Washington reported several incidents that had taken place involving a neighbor. An officer was advised. The information was documented.

A caller Tuesday afternoon in the 1100 block of Enterprise Drive in Riverside reported a male subject stole alcohol. An officer responded. The report is under investigation.

All other offenses

A caller Tuesday night in the 1300 block of Deer Run Drive in Riverside reported a subject was throwing debris at them, and was putting debris in his yard. Officers responded. Both parties were back in their yards. They agreed to fill out statements for an officer to pick up later.
