Arrests

Kisston Ranae Hillyer, 36, of Washington, was arrested Thursday morning in the 2100 block of Lexington Boulevard in Washington on a Washington County warrant for controlled substance violation.

Alesha Dianne Rios, 28, of Washington, was arrested Friday morning in the 2400 block of Highway 92 in Washington on a charge of fifth-degree theft.

Traffic accident

An officer reported being out with a vehicle that possibly struck a cow, Thursday night at Highway 218 and 320th Street in Crawfordsville, after Dispatch received a report of six cows out. The officer believed that a semitrailer actually clipped the cow, which was deceased and in the median. The officer planned to contact State Roads in the morning. Other cows took off.

Disabled vehicles

A disabled vehicle with flashers on was reported Thursday night at Highway 218 and 220th Street in Ainsworth. The vehicle was secure.

A caller Friday morning in the 3000 block of Highway 1 in Washington reported a broken-down vehicle was possibly on fire. There was a language barrier. Brighton Fire Department responded and assisted. The subject had a ride coming.

Fire calls

A caller Thursday afternoon in the 1100 block of Kola Avenue in Kalona reported smelling what smelled like smoke in the basement of the residence. No flames or smoke were visible. An officer, Kalona Fire Department, and Kalona QRS responded. No problem was located.

Animal complaint

A caller Thursday morning in the 3300 block of Coppock Road in Wayland reported there was a deer in the roadway. A second caller called and advised that they removed the deer from the road before the deputy’s arrival. An officer was advised.

A large horse was reported in the roadway, Thursday afternoon in the 2800 block of Louisa Washington Road in Crawfordsville. A citation will be sent by certified mail to the owner for allowing an animal to run at large.

Assault

A caller Friday morning in the 2900 block of 245th Street in Ainsworth reported subjects were fighting near a house on a gravel road west of Ainsworth. The owner of the residence also called to report several subjects in the driveway fighting. One subject was injured but refused to pursue charges. Three subjects left before officers’ arrival. Documentation only was made. One subject was transported by ambulance to the University Hospitals in Iowa City.

Burglary

A caller Thursday afternoon in the 700 block of East Jefferson Street in Washington reported that one of her friend’s vehicles was gone through.  Two checkbooks were missing. An officer was advised for documentation.

DP & Q

A caller Thursday afternoon in the 600 block of South Ninth Avenue in Washington reported loud music somewhere in the area. An officer responded. The music was coming from Case Field.

Drug/narcotics violation

A caller Thursday afternoon in the 400 block of E Avenue in Kalona requested that a deputy return to the residence in reference to an eviction and finding an item. An officer responded. The item was disposed of.

Family offense non-violent

A caller Thursday morning in the 500 block of South 11th Avenue in Washington reported her son was out of control. No weapons were involved. An officer responded. The juvenile was taken to school by the father, and Juvenile Court Services was contacted to assist.

Fraud

A caller Thursday afternoon reported a fraudulent use of her debit card. An officer spoke with the caller. The incident is under investigation.

Sexual assault

A caller Friday morning in the 200 block of East Washington Street in Washington reported a possible sexual assault that occurred in the City of Washington. The information was documented.

All other theft

A caller Thursday morning in the 600 block of East Jefferson Street in Washington reported two of his vehicles had been rummaged through. Nothing was missing. An officer was advised, and the information was documented.

A caller Thursday morning in the 300 block of East Second Street in Washington reported that someone stole her purse out of her van overnight. An officer located the purse half a block away from the vehicle. The officer responded.

A caller Thursday morning in the 400 block of East Main Street in Washington reported both vehicles at the residence had been gone through and some items stolen. The information was documented.

A caller Thursday morning in the 200 block of East Main Street in Washington reported a 2009 Chevrolet Impala was gone through, including the console and the glove box. It was unknown at the time of the call whether anything was missing. Documentation was made.

A caller Thursday morning in the 400 block of South Sixth Avenue in Washington reported that their vehicle had been gone through, and the inside was a mess. The total number of missing items was unknown at the time of the call, but one AC/DC CD was missing. Documentation was made.

A caller Thursday morning in the 300 block of East Jefferson Street in Washington reported a blue Chrysler van was broken into. A billfold was stolen, and someone had gone through the center console.

A caller Thursday morning in the 500 block of South Sixth Avenue in Washington reported a theft from her vehicle last night. An officer was advised for documentation purposes.

A caller Thursday morning in the 300 block of East Second Street in Washington reported someone was in her vehicle the previous evening. They noticed the dome light on in the vehicle at 5:30 a.m. An officer was advised for documentation purposes.

A caller Thursday noon in the 700 block of East Jefferson Street in Washington reported someone was inside her vehicle last evening, but they couldn’t determine that anything was missing. An officer was advised for documentation purposes.

A caller Thursday afternoon in the 200 block of East Jefferson Street in Washington reported someone was in their car, and change was taken. An officer was advised for documentation purposes.

A caller Thursday afternoon in the 200 block of East Second Street in Washington reported that someone entered his vehicle and took an iPhone 6. An officer was advised for documentation purposes.

A caller Thursday evening in the 300 block of East Second Street in Washington reported that items were taken out of his unlocked vehicle sometime the previous night, and requested to speak with an officer. An officer spoke with the caller. The only item missing was his checkbook. The information was documented.

A caller Thursday evening in the 400 block of East Second Street in Washington reported that someone got into his unlocked vehicle the previous night. They took his billfold, driver’s license, credit cards, Social Security card, youngsters’ Social Security cards, bank card, checkbook, insurance cards, and $20 to $30 in cash. The incident was documented. Cards including driver’s license and Social Security cards were entered into the system.

All other offenses

An officer reported locating a Magna Precious Pearls bicycle near the main pavilion, Thursday night in the 900 block of West Main Street in Washington. The bicycle was taken to the bike shed.
