Traffic accident

A caller Thursday afternoon at Spruce Avenue and 280th Street in Washington reported they hit a deer on Spruce Avenue just north of 280th Street. The deer was still alive in the west ditch. There was little or no damage to the vehicle. An officer responded and was unable to locate the deer.

A caller Thursday afternoon in the 3000 block of Highway 22 in Riverside reported someone hit their vehicle while it was parked in the parking lot. It was a blue Chrysler car with dealer plates. The caller had no suspects, and the business advised that no one saw the accident. An officer spoke with the caller. The caller already had the dealership coming to remove the vehicle. Documentation was made for their insurance.

Traffic other

A caller Thursday morning in the 900 block of East 15th Street in Washington reported a black Ford truck occupied by an older male was parked in the roadway. An officer responded and was unable to locate the vehicle.

Disabled vehicles

A caller Thursday night in the 3000 block of 160th Street in Riverside reported a disabled vehicle sitting on 160th Street. The subjects had a flat tire. An officer responded. The subjects had a ride coming to assist them.

Animal complaint

An officer received a report of a pit bull type of dog that was tied out on a log chain 24/7. The officer spoke with the dog owner and advised him on the city ordinance and that the dog needed to be taken inside.

Barking dog

A caller Thursday night in the 700 block of South 10th Avenue in Washington reported barking dogs outside of a residence. An officer responded. A verbal warning was given to the dog owner for allowing the dogs to bark.

Disorderly conduct

A caller Thursday night in the 100 block of West Washington Street in Washington requested assistance with an out-of-control subject. An officer responded. The subject was transported to the hospital for a voluntary evaluation.

A caller Thursday night in the 200 block of A Avenue in Kalona reported a subject attempted to hit their child with a vehicle. An officer spoke with the caller. The incident was unfounded.

Stolen property

A caller Thursday evening in the 3100 block of Highway 22 in Riverside reported locating a stolen vehicle out of Iowa City Police Department, from an Iowa City business. The vehicle was parked in the parking lot. Officers responded. The vehicle was picked up by a towing service in accordance with Iowa City Police Department instructions.

Suspicious activity

A caller Thursday afternoon in the 900 block of East Tyler Street in Washington reported locating suspicious items in their parking lot. Documentation was made.

All other theft

A caller Thursday afternoon in the 1000 block of West Madison Street in Washington reported a gas drive-off. Dispatch made contact with the registered owner of the vehicle. They returned and paid.
