Traffic accidents

A live power line reportedly fell across the street at First Avenue and 13th Street in Wellman Wednesday afternoon. The city received information that a vehicle hit the line. Wellman Fire Department, officers and Alliant Energy responded.



Two subjects were reported vandalizing the ballpark in the 200 block of North Van Buren Street in Brighton Wednesday evening. Officers responded.


Disorderly conduct

A caller reported Wednesday morning that she was involved in an altercation last Friday in the 1000 block of East Van Buren Street in Washington and her necklace was lost. Officers responded. A fight between several subjects took place in the Case Field parking lot. The incident was documented.



A caller in the 200 block of North Harrison Street in Brighton reported Wednesday night that two subjects were following her around and harassing her. Officers were unable to locate the subjects.


Intoxicated pedestrian

Kati Lee Faupel, 17, of Washington, was cited Wednesday night at Hayes Timber in Washington for possession of alcohol under legal age.


Tobacco violations

A student was reported in possession of tobacco Wednesday morning in the 1700 block of Vine Avenue in Riverside. Officers responded. The school handled the situation internally.


All other offenses

A caller reported Wednesday evening losing his wallet in the 600 block of Ninth Avenue in Wellman. Officers were advised.


Suspicious activity

Lights and signs were reportedly still on at a business in the 1100 block of West Madison Street in Washington Wednesday night. Officers responded. Employees were doing inventory.


Family offense non violent

A concern with a family situation was reported Wednesday morning in the 100 block of B Avenue in Kalona. Officers referred the caller to DHS.


Civil dispute

A violation of a no-contact order was reported Wednesday afternoon in the 2700 block of Havre Lane in Washington. Officers spoke with all parties. No violation. The incident was documented.

A caller in the 700 block of 13th Street in Kalona reported Wednesday afternoon that her ex-boyfriend, whom she kicked out, had broken into her residence by kicking in doors and was taking a shower in her house. Officers responded. The subject had left the residence. The caller will advise her landlord of the damage.
