Arrests

Carlos Robert Cisnero Jr., 24, of Washington, was arrested Monday morning at Fern Cliff Road and 315th Street in Wayland on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia, and a Washington County warrant for violation of probation on original charge of OWI, first offense. Caitlin Synclare Nichols, 23, of Brighton, was arrested at the same time and location on charges of possession with intent to deliver, possession of controlled substance – meth, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Danyelek Figueroa, 23, of Kalona, was arrested Monday night in the 1000 block of South Iowa Avenue in Washington on a charge of driving under suspension, fifth offense.

Traffic accident

A caller Monday morning at 315th Street and Coppock Road in Washington reported a vehicle-vs.-deer accident. It was unknown if his vehicle was drivable. His wife was coming to pick him up, and he planned to have the vehicle privately towed. An officer was advised. Documentation was made for insurance purposes. The caller was advised that he could fill out a state accident report if the damage was more than $1,500.

Traffic other

A caller Monday afternoon in the 200 block of East Madison Street in Brighton reported a very young Hispanic male was riding a four-wheeler all over Brighton. An officer was advised.

A caller Monday afternoon at First Street and E Avenue in Kalona reported that a blue minivan was parked at the four-way stop with flashers on. No one was around. The vehicle was gone upon an officer’s arrival.

Disabled vehicles

A disabled vehicle was reported, Monday afternoon in Sunset Park in the 900 block of West Main Street in Washington, and it had been there for a week. An officer spoke with the owner, who was going to contact his brother and have him move it.

Animal complaint

A caller Monday morning in the 3100 block of 190th Street in Ainsworth reported that the neighbor’s horse was out and reaching over the fence, biting at her horse. An officer responded. The owner showed up and was issued a citation for allowing an animal to run at large.

A caller Monday morning in the 1400 block of North Sixth Avenue in Washington reported that her neighbor’s dog, a St. Bernard, was loose and was in the area. The dog was aggressive toward her youngsters who were getting on the bus. An officer responded. The complaint was under investigation. The dog owner was given a written warning for dog at large. The dog was up-to-date through the end of 2019. The last two calls were on his daughter’s St. Bernard dogs.

Assault

A caller reported a domestic assault, Monday night at 500th Street in Kalona. Officers responded. Further investigation determined that the assault had happened in Johnson County. An officer forwarded the information to a Johnson County deputy.

A caller Monday night in the 400 block of B Avenue in Kalona reported that she was assaulted. While she was on the phone, the male party left in a black 1997 Infiniti with no license plates. Officers responded and spoke with both parties. There were conflicting stories. The information was going to be forwarded to the county attorney.

Barking dog

A caller Monday morning reported a barking dog in the 1000 block of East Main Street in Washington. An officer spoke with the caller, who advised that they did not call. There was a language barrier.

Burglary

A caller Monday afternoon in the 1400 block of E Avenue in Kalona reported that his storage unit had been burglarized. An officer responded. The caller was going to provide the officer with an itemized list of all items missing. A report will be filed.

Civil standby

An officer reported being out at a residence assisting in retrieving property, Monday night in the 700 block of East Jefferson Street in Washington. Documentation was made.

Disorderly conduct

A caller Monday morning in the 700 block of South Third Avenue in Washington reported having issues with her boyfriend. It was verbal at that time. Officers responded. The incident was verbal only.

A caller reported a male and a female arguing outside in the street, Monday night in the 1200 block of North Third Avenue in Washington Officers responded. The dispute was verbal only, and the parties separated.

DP & Q

A caller Monday morning in the 500 block of North 14th Street in Wellman reported that her neighbor had been sitting outside and blaring his music. The caller requested a deputy. An officer was unable to locate any loud music.

Family offense nonviolent

A caller Monday afternoon in the 300 block of West Van Buren Street in Washington reported that her husband would not let her get her items from the home, and she requested an officer. An officer spoke with both subjects. The female left with her property to stay with her uncle. The male subject was not welcome at the uncle’s residence. They were going to have to go to court for custody paperwork. The male was advised to stay away from the female. The male party then reported that the female had paperwork belonging to him. The officer spoke with the female, who advised that she was not aware of where the paperwork was. The officer spoke with the male party and advised him of this.

Fraud

A caller Monday afternoon in the 700 block of East Second Street in Washington reported fraudulent activity on his card. An officer spoke to the caller. The account had been closed, and it was reported to the credit card company. Charges occurred in Minnesota. The information was documented.

Sex offender

An officer reported a possible violation of the sex offender registry, Monday night in the 2100 block of Lexington Boulevard in Washington. The officer advised that a report would be filed.

Stolen property

A caller Monday morning in the 100 block of West Washington Street in Brighton reported locating a stolen motorcycle in a Brighton apartment, and requested a deputy. Subjects fled in the vehicle before a deputy arrived. The vehicle was located east of Coppock of Highway 78. The motorcycle was returned to the owner and canceled from the system. Charges are pending. Reed Richard Walton, 23, of Mount Pleasant, was cited for driving under suspension, third offense, and no insurance.

Suspicious activity

A caller Monday morning at Elm Avenue and 190th Street in Keota reported a subject on a skateboard, with a reflective jacket. The subject was skating across America for a skateboard museum in California. There was no problem.

A caller Monday morning at North Railroad Street and Third Street in Ainsworth reported a suspicious subject in Ainsworth, who was going around asking people for food. The caller requested to speak with a deputy. An officer responded. She was only asking people that she saw outside. There was no problem. Documentation was made.

A caller Monday night in the 900 block of East Second Street in Washington reported a suspicious male in the neighborhood for several hours. An officer spoke with the subject. He was waiting for a friend and agreed to go to his friend’s residence to wait.

A caller Monday night in the 300 block of East Madison Street in Brighton reported coming home and finding the door open to their residence. An officer responded. The caller had not gotten the door completely shut. Documentation was made.

A caller Monday night in the 500 block of West Jefferson Street in Washington reported a male going through the recycle bins. Officers located the subject. He was getting pop cans out of the recycle. There was no problem.

A caller reported suspicious activity, early Tuesday morning in the 1000 block of North Iowa Avenue in Washington. An officer checked the residence and was unable to locate anything suspicious.

Trespass

A caller Monday afternoon in the 700 block of West Third Street in Washington reported that someone was camping on his back property, and requested an officer. Subjects were not around upon the officer’s arrival.

All other theft

A caller Monday afternoon in the 3300 block of Redwood Avenue in Mount Pleasant reported that a male subject was on his property going through his car, and left in a vehicle. The caller provided the license plate number and was almost certain that the subject had taken items out of his car. Henry County advised that the truck was stolen from their county. The information was documented for the time being. The caller was not sure about the items that were taken.
