Arrests

Travis Cole Brown, 32, of Washington, was arrested Thursday evening in the 1000 block of North Sixth Avenue in Washington on charges of possession of controlled substance, third or subsequent offense, eluding-injury, OWI, drugs or participate in felony, operating while under the influence, second offense, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Traffic accident

A caller Thursday night in the 1700 block of Highway 218 in Ainsworth reported there were two vehicles on the side of the road. There was also a bumper in the roadway. Officers responded. One of the vehicles was involved in a car vs. deer accident. State Patrol will be handling the accident.

Traffic other

A deputy reported he was out with a vehicle, Thursday afternoon at Broadway Street in Keota.

An officer reported he was out with a vehicle along the roadway, Thursday night at Riverside Road and 135th Street in Riverside. The operator was just tired and pulled over for a short time. There was no problem.

Disabled vehicles

An officer reported being out with a disabled truck, Friday morning at Old White Way and Highway 218 in Crawfordsville. It was unoccupied and off the traveled portion of the roadway. The vehicle was added to the system.

Animal complaint

A caller Thursday afternoon at Fifth Street and Ninth Avenue in Wellman reported a loose dog followed her to her residence and was biting at her while she was walking. Tooth marks were left, but they did not cut through the skin. An officer spoke with the caller. Documentation was made.

Assault

A caller Thursday night in the 700 block of South Avenue C in Washington reported that two subjects were fighting in the middle of the roadway. They had then gone their separate ways. Officers responded. A report will be filed. Charges are pending on the two subjects.

Burglary

A caller Thursday night in the 800 block of South 12th Avenue in Washington reported that he was missing a lock box with collector coins inside and other items from his vehicle. An officer spoke with the caller. A report will be filed.

Disorderly conduct

A caller Thursday morning in the 1100 block of South Avenue B in Washington reported two unruly juveniles were currently in the office. Officers responded. Charges will be filed on a juvenile for disorderly conduct.

DP & Q

A caller Thursday night at H Avenue and 12th Street in Kalona reported a subject was singing in the area. An officer responded and was unable to locate the subject.

Family offense non-violent

A caller Thursday morning in the 1500 block of North Sixth Avenue in Washington reported a possible violation of a no-contact order. An officer responded and spoke with the caller. Text messages received from other parties were not a violation of the no-contact order.

Illegal dumping

An officer reported locating a subject dumping trash in the church dumpster, Friday morning in the 200 block of East Main Street in Washington. The officer had the subject remove his trash from the dumpster.

Suspicious activity

A caller Thursday morning at 202nd Street and Vine Avenue in Ainsworth reported a suspicious vehicle with a male subject inside. An officer responded and was unable to locate the vehicle, but could see where it was parked.

Truancy

A caller Thursday morning in the 2100 block of Lexington Boulevard in Washington reported she dropped her son off at the alternative learning center, and he was refusing to go inside. He was running down the street, and was described as wearing a blue T-shirt and black shorts and carrying a backpack. An officer responded and located the juvenile, who claimed he left belongings at home. The mother planned to take him home, then speak with school administration about attending school the remainder of the day.

All other theft

A caller Thursday night in the 1200 block of East Washington Street in Washington reported a theft. An officer responded and spoke to the subject, who was missing two notebooks with her record-keeping in them. Documentation was made.

All other offenses

A caller Thursday morning in the 200 block of A Avenue in Kalona reported someone put rocks in his gas tank. An officer spoke with the caller. Documentation was made.
