Arrests

Randall Rayvon Woodson, 22, of Fairfield, was arrested Wednesday afternoon in the 2100 block of Lexington Boulevard in Washington on a DNR warrant for failure to appear on original charge of driving while license denied, suspension, canceled or revoked.

Adam Leonard Bloom, 35, of Washington, was arrested Wednesday night in the 2600 block of Ginkgo Avenue in Washington on a charge of assault causing bodily injury.

Ernest Leo Johnson, 61, of Washington, was arrested Wednesday night in the 1000 block of West Monroe Street in Washington on a charge of driving with an expired driver’s license and OWI, first offense.

 

Traffic accident

A caller Wednesday morning in the 200 block of West Main Street in Washington reported a two-vehicle accident near the club. An officer responded. Damage amounted to more than $1,500, and a state report will be filed. Patrick Gavin, of Washington, was cited for unsafe backing onto a highway. Jessica Dennis, of Washington, was cited for no insurance accident-related.

 

Traffic other

An officer reported being out with a subject riding a four-wheeler ATV, Wednesday afternoon at South Avenue D and West Tyler Street in Washington. The subject was given a warning and advised that he could not ride them through town on city streets.

An officer reported being out with a vehicle in the roadway, Wednesday afternoon at North Iowa Avenue and West 15th Street in Washington. No one was around. The officer was advised to disregard. Subjects were picking up their children from day care.

 

Animal complaint

A caller Wednesday night in the 400 block of South Third Avenue in Washington reported a bat in the house. An officer responded and was unable to locate the bat.

A caller Wednesday night in the 700 block of South Ninth Avenue in Washington reported a bat in her house. An officer responded and removed the bat.

 

Assault

A caller Wednesday night in the 2200 block of Juniper Avenue in West Chester reported an assault on emergency personnel. Charges will be filed.

 

DP & Q

A caller Thursday morning in the 300 block of West Third Street in Washington reported that a male subject across the street had been yelling and cursing for an hour. Officers responded. The subject was going to call it a night and go inside.

 

Family offense nonviolent

A caller Wednesday night in the 2700 block of Havre Lane in Washington reported a verbal fight with her husband. The caller then called 911 again shortly afterward, advising that she had left and to disregard anyone responding.

A caller Wednesday night in the 900 block of South Second Avenue in Washington requested that an officer speak with her 18-year-old daughter, who had left on foot going northbound. An officer located the daughter and spoke with her. She did not want to be home and wanted to walk around town for a while. The mother was advised of that. Ten minutes later, the grandmother and the mother called in, advising that the female was needing assistance again. Officers responded. An officer transported the subject to the Emergency Room for evaluation.

 

Intimidation/harassment

A caller Wednesday afternoon in the 500 block of South Iowa Avenue in Washington reported verbal harassment. The harassment was unfounded. The caller was advised to speak with her attorney.

A caller Wednesday evening in the 1600 block of Highway 1 in Washington reported harassment from her ex-husband. An officer responded. The caller was advised on how to get a no-contact order.

A caller Wednesday night in the 400 block of South Jefferson Street in Brighton reported being harassed by a female subject. An officer responded and spoke with the caller and the female subject. The female subject advised that the caller was in her van and when she yelled at him he ran off toward his house. Johnathan Eugene Triska, 22, of Brighton, was cited into court for trespass, first offense.

 

Motor vehicle theft

A caller Wednesday morning at Iowa River in Marengo reported locating a stolen UTV from Washington County. The vehicle was taken to the local compound. An officer was going to contact the owner. The vehicle was cleared from the system.

 

Suspicious activity

A caller Wednesday evening in the 3000 block of 220th Street in Ainsworth reported illegal dumping in the parking lot. An officer responded. Contact was made with County Roads and they will have someone pick it up.

Dispatch received a report of suspicious activity in the cemetery, Wednesday night in the 2100 block of Hemlock Avenue in West Chester. Subjects had left in a dark-colored minivan, last seen on 250th going eastbound. An officer located the vehicle and stopped it by a car wash. Henry Thomas Yates, 52, of Washington, was cited into court for public urination under the county ordinance. Errol Herley Campbell Lewis, 41, of Washington, was cited into court at the same time and location for public urination under the county ordinance.

 

Trespass

A caller Wednesday morning in the 100 block of Fifth Street in Wellman reported that they were in the process of moving out and her 21-year-old stepson had no permission to be there and was living there, “squatting.” The caller requested a deputy to respond. An officer responded. A male subject and a female subject left the residence before the officer’s arrival. The officer spoke with the caller, who was requesting that contact be made and advice given to her stepson that he was not to return or he would be charged with trespass. The officer was going to attempt to locate the subject and relay the message.

 

Welfare check

A caller Wednesday morning in the 100 block of Angle Street in Brighton requested a welfare check on an employee who had not shown up or called in for work for the past two days. An officer responded and made contact with the subject, who was advised to call his employer.

An officer received a request for a welfare check via the Police Department, Wednesday morning in the 1000 block of North Fifth Avenue in Washington. The officer responded. Documentation was made. The proper department was advised, and DHS will be notified.

A caller Wednesday morning in the 500 block of South Third Avenue in Washington requested a welfare check at a residence. An officer responded and was unable to locate anyone.

A caller Wednesday night at Parkside Estates Road in Washington requested a welfare check on her family member who had left for Iowa City about six hours earlier, about 5 p.m., and had not yet come back home. An officer was advised, and then was disregarded when the caller called back in and advised that the female had returned home.

An officer reported a welfare check, at midnight Wednesday in the 600 block of West Tyler Street in Washington. A second officer responded. The subject was fine.

 

All other offenses

A caller Wednesday afternoon in the 100 block of South Marion Avenue in Washington reported that a subject was using a fake account on Facebook and messaging people, pretending to be her brother. An officer responded. The subject was advised to contact Facebook. Documentation was made.
