Queen contest scheduled for Sunday

The annual queen contest will be held Sunday as one of thew traditional starts of the Washington County Fair. Anna Pence, winner of the 2016 fair queen contest (pictured) will crown the winner.

The 2017 Washington County Fair will kick off Sunday and run through Friday. Among the events scheduled Sunday will be the choosing of the crowning of a queen to represent the fair.

The queen contest is scheduled to kick off at 7 p.m. in the Washington Community Center. Fair candidates include: Avery Blauvelt, daughter of Andy and Kim Blauvelt of Wellman; Makenzi Marek, daughter of Tim and Heather marek of Riverside; Payton Hart, daughter of Larry and Colleen Hart of Riverside; Baylee Stalder, daughter of Randy and Tanya Stalder of Washington; Kylee Porter, daughte of Steve and Tammy Porter of Ainsworth; Jessica Hora, daughter of Andy and Mary Hora of Riverside; and Amanda Pfeifer, daughter of Lee and Wanda Pfeifer of Riverside.

Anna Pence, last year’s queen, will crown the new roalty at the event.
