Residents enjoy musical program

The weekly church services were provided by Minister Jason Collier, Ainsworth Community Church, representing the Reformed Presbyterian Church. The sermon was titled “Forgiveness.” Scripture from John 1:5-2:2. Linda McNeil shared her special talents on the piano.

Jeannie Verstraete with Select Rehab hosted “Managing Those Fidgety Legs: Restless Leg Syndrome Thursday, June 28 in the Marshall Game Room at Halcyon House. Jeannie educated residents on the symptoms of Restless Leg Syndrome and how it can be treated. Residents are looking forward to Jeannie’s program next month, “Beating the Heat this Summer.”

Virginia Tschantz attended grandson, Trevor Tschantz and Vani Barry wedding at the Badger Barn in Deerfield, Wisconsin, on Saturday, July 30.

Family members from Iowa, Colorado and Georgia attended. Virginia reported that a great time was had by all!

Halcyon House would like to thank Clyde Pearce and Deb Hanson for sharing their musical talents with our residents and team members last Saturday, June 30, in the Epworth Chapel at Halcyon House.

Clyde played the violin and Deb played her guitar.

The residents are looking forward to another musical program by Clyde and Deb.

Halcyon House Wellness Coordinator, Megan Richardson hosted the monthly Birthday Club Monday, July 2, in the Applewood Bistro.

Residents with July birthdays enjoyed donuts and coffee while reminiscing about previous birthdays.

Halcyon House residents are looking forward to celebrating WesleyLife Week.

The week will kick off Friday, July 6, with a complimentary continental breakfast and campus walk. Halcyon House has planned lots of fun programs for the week, a Western Themed BBQ, Block Party with live entertainment by James Crossroads, Centering Pray Program, Environmental Services Challenge with a Plunger Toss, Bed Making and Nail Driving contests, musical performance by the “Accordion Sisters,” iced cream social and lots more!

Happy Birthday wishes go out this week to Loretta Gardner and Mary Ellen Safore.
