Riverside City Council to meet

The Riverside City Council will hold a work session and a regular city council meeting, Monday, Aug. 7, in the Riverside City Hall Council Chambers at 60 North Greene Street in Riverside.

The work session will begin at 5:30 p.m., with discussion on Pioneer Street Drainage and Downtown Streetscape Project, and Northern Growth Development.

At 6:30 p.m. the regular City Council meeting will begin. Every agenda item is an item of discussion and action if needed. Agenda items include: Approve consent agenda; committee reports (Trek Fest report); citizens comments; Riverside Ball Association grant application request; MMS Consultants regarding Second and Washburn Streets Project updates, Highway 22 West and Pioneer Street Drainage Project, alley behind Murphy’s and Highway 22 East, Curb and Gutter at Kevin Mills’, and Cherry Lane ADA Sidewalk; motion for MMS to proceed as directed; closed session pursuant to Iowa Code Section 21.5(1)(j) Real Estate; report from Bryan on city ditches and rights of way; recycling – Kevin Mills; KCTC Computer and Maintenance; summary of solar companies; Habitat for Humanity House Build; State Bike Race for Cycling Club, including park shelter reservations, pictures with the space ship, blocking off a street, and the mayor’s presentation of trophies to winners; update on west welcome sign; closing comments by city staff and City Council, and requests for information.
