Rose M. Boileau, age 84, of Washington, Iowa, died Wednesday, August 23, 2017, at the University of Iowa Hospital after failing in health for the past six months.

Celebration of life services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 27, 2017, at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home. The family will be present to receive friends from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Sunday at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home. Private family interment will take place at the Elm Grove Cemetery at a later date. Rose was born January 30, 1933, in Louisa County, Iowa, the daughter of Russell Wayne and Margaret LeNora (Green) Taylor. She attended school in Columbus Junction, Iowa, and moved with her family to Washington at the age of 12. She completed her education in Washington, graduating in 1951. Rose was united in marriage to Robert "Red" Boileau on September 20, 1952, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa.

Rose worked at the Washington Telephone office, was a Med Aide and Activities Director at Halcyon House, the Washington County Home and was lastly employed at Family Practice in Washington. She provided child care in her home for many years. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinals and Iowa Hawkeyes fan. She was proud to have been the Washington County "Tall Corn Queen" for two years. Family was the focal point of Rose's life and she cherished the time she spent with them.

She is survived by daughter, Bobbi Trier of Washington, Iowa; daughter, Jackie Gunn and husband Butch of Colorado Springs, Colo.; daughter, Jill Boileau; son, Pat Boileau; son, Mike Boileau; daughter, Amy Stoutner; daughter, Billie Bruns and husband David all of Washington, Iowa. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Fairy Gesling of Washington, Iowa; niece, Cindy Juhl of Washington, Iowa; and great-nephew, Brian Werts of Ankeny, Iowa.

Rose was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert "Red" Boileau in 1996; one brother, Russell "Gene" Taylor; and one great-granddaughter
