Security guard found dead in Mt. Pleasant

MT. PLEASANT (GTNS) – An unresponsive male subject was found at the former Pioneer Seed Corn Plant on Sunday according to a press release form the Mt. Pleasant Police Department.
Joseph Barlow, 46, Clinton, a night security guard at the plant, was discovered unresponsive by a day-shift security guard at Pioneer.
At approximately 9:56 a.m., the police were called to the former Pioneer building and upon arrival spoke with the guard who discovered Barlow, according to the release.
Barlow was pronounced dead at the scene and, according to the release, it did not appear foul play was involved. Cause of death is pending autopsy results.
