SEIBA students selected

The following six Advanced Band students earned South East Iowa Bandmasters Association Honors at auditions Saturday and were selected to SEIBA Honor Band.

Evan Miller-trumpet, son of Matt and Wendy Miller; Quentin Howard-trombone, son of Steve and Charla Howard; Mateo Salazar-Clarinet, son of Jorge and Kathy Salazar; Kevin Flannery-Tuba, son of Ryan and Diana Flannery; Quinn Wubbena-Percussion, son of Grant and Diana Wubbena; and Henry Raber-French Horn, son of Ed and Ericka Raber.

These students will perform at Iowa City West High School on Jan 20 at the SEIBA Festival.

In addition to SEIBA honors, Evan and Quentin also earned top honors by being selected to the eighth-grade All-State Honor Band, which will perform in May at the Iowa Bandmasters Association conference.

Also trying out for the SEIBA JH honor band were: Alex Murphy-trumpet, daughter of Mike and Marcy Murphy; Bailey Rees-clarinet, daughter of Tyler and Mindi Rees; Levi Applegate-Euphonium, son of Lee Applegate and Angie and Greg Hall; and Jenna Messer-Alto Saxophone, daughter of Mark and Julie Messer.
