Sherry K. Beenblossom, 58, of Washington, died Wednesday, April 26, 2017 in her home in Washington.

Celebration of Life services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 2, in the Jones & Eden Funeral Home with the Rev. Rick Zickefoose officiating. Calling hours will begin at noon Monday in the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Fulton Cemetery in Cairo. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Hospice of Washington County.

Ms. Beenblossom was born Dec. 4, 1958, in Mt. Pleasant, the daughter of Gladys Marie Palmer and Larry Dale Beenblossom. She graduated from Washington High School. She married Thomas Joe Miller on July 19, 1980 in Ainsworth. They later divorced. She later met the greatest love of her life, John “B.J.” Swank, in 1992. He died in 2000.

She was a counselor at Systems Unlimited for five years. Prior to counseling she worked as a waitress at The Hub in Washington. She volunteered her time reading books that were recorded for the Vincent Center for the Blind. She enjoyed crafting, knitting, sewing, crocheting, cross-stitch, and writing poems.

Surviving are her siblings, Cindy Martin of Wayland, Jeff Beenblossom of Chiefland, Florida, Tammy Starr and husband Scott of Wayland, and Chrissy Dunham and husband Chris of Colorado; sister-in-law Cherie Musgrove of Washington; stepmother, Charlotte Beenblossom of Florida; stepbrother, Michael Kelly of Florida; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother in 2017; father in 2016; a brother, Michael in 2016; and a brother-in-law, Tony Martin in 2008.
